| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2003 Deep orange in color. Head is medium in size, white, and mostly lasting. Very murky with lots of little bubbles; you definitely can't see through this stuff. Huge flowery hop aroma with grapefruit and peach notes distinguishable upon futher sniffs. Flavor is massively bitter. Each sip must contain a truckload of hops. Immediate finish has a candyish quality that still booms with citric hoppiness. Texture is nice and thick. Very good, but nothing really sets this above other super-hopped beers. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA

Many spring flowers and no alcohol burn whatsoever. Rich dark golden color and a nicely frilly head, although it doesn’t last too long, it does linger on the top for awhile. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 5, 2008 I have had this on tap and in bottle many times and I am now finally putting my rating to RB from a 22oz bomber thanks to Holdenn for picking this up from the brewery for me. Slight cloudy orange/dark amber with large, creamy, long lasting off-white head and lots of lacing, settles to a pancake head, pretty beautiful. Aroma is very fresh citrus hops and bubblegum with caramel, very enticing. Flavor big pine and citrus with sweet caramel, alc, bubblegum, all the while settling to a nice gooiness on my tongue. Full, creamy body. So well balanced and yet such a hop bomb. Three floyds can make all the Helles and Alpha Kongs they want as long as they never stop making this wonderful beer. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2006 Dark golden clear body, big white head fast away; Huge nose but not as deep as expected, lots of flowers, apricot, sweet pine; Super full body, with a very soft texture and carbonation; Medium length in a way sweet finish, again flowers, apricot, but ending of very pine-like. Generally much sweeter then bitter, lacks balance. The bitterness only truly steeps up in the very late finish. Very disappointing! zathrus13 (1300), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 6, 2004 Rating # 200. Orange/gold color. Aromas of citrus, pine, and malt. Taste is pine, citrus, some malt and slight bits of caramel and spice. Alcohol is there, but no overpowering. Very good, but I don’t feel it’s as good as it’s 4.33 rating. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 24, 2003 This beer is about HUGE amounts of hops. Beer has massive hop aroma of skunk weed and pine. Beer pours beautiful copper brown with a huge off white head that is fully retained. There is heavy lacing. The flavor is marvelous with an initial huge hop assault. The flavor then mellow as some nice malt sweetness kicks in. This is the best IPA going. It should be interested to see how the ratings within syles are altered after the new styles are introduced. This will obviously be in the Imperial IPA cagegory. j12601 (1298), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle, with a big thank you to StFun for sending me this one. Pours a clear brownish amber with a medium sized white head that actually sticks around for a while. Piles of sweet honeyed citrus hops hit the nose just on popping the bottle cap. The sweet pine and citrus is backed up with hints of honey and malt. Medium to thick body with a gentle sweetness up front into a nice malty backbone. Finishes still a little sweet, but not cloying, with a very slowly developing and long lasting grapefruit bitterness. Remarkably tasty. Nothing on it that says “Wow this is the best thing ever”, but lots of stuff that is just downright solid and hard to disagree with. Shame FFF stopped distributing to NY.
