Aroma is big grapefruit, pine, and sweet caramel. Flavor continues with the hoppy grapefruit, cirtus, and pine. A big malt backing gives this beer a great balance with the hops and alcohol. Medium to full bodied with a nice finish.

Cask @ DL06 on 4/29/06 Nice big hoppy gapefruit aroma (not as big as the Khan had just before). Huge hop flavor and sugary sweetness. Grapefruit and citrus flavors. Full bodied. 9/4/9/5/18 While this would go up to a 4.5 I will leave it as is since it isn’t bottled and I probably wont be getting it again. :( Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a dark hazy orange brew with a fizzy off white head. Good lacing. Aroma is very piney, grapefruit and some sweet caramel. Taste is smooth, sweet malted candy with a very bitter finish. One of the better IPA I’ve tried. Ughsmash (4044), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

Small head quickly receded to form a thin ring around the top. Brilliant aroma with pine and grapefruit from the hops as well as some sweet peaches. Very smooth mouthfeel with a well-balanced medium malt backbone. Hoppy goodness coated the entire mouth! Flavor followed the aroma with the grapefruit and pine, and I also picked up some white pepper and a little caramel. Long pine forest & pepper finish. Magnifique! | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Bottle (650ml). Shared with GregClow, my bottle via trade with Mullman. *My 900th rating* Let me start by saying this is by far the BEST IPA I’ve ever had. Poured slightly hazy orange with an average off-white head. Aroma is a juicy hop medley, orange/lemon/pineapple - resiny but not overpowering - solid sweet lightly roast malt - incredibly balanced and blended. Taste is just what the nose promised - juicy, subtle, balanced - there’s a hint of spruce resin and the malt follows it all the way. This has a long, smooth finish, it ends slightly bitter, but it just gets smoother the more you drink it. This satisfied my palate in so many ways - just drink it, enjoy it and appreciate the balance and smoothness: incredible, it’s hoppy but it just doesn’t *seem* particularly hoppy - quite an accomplishment. A VERY smooth, full-bodied IPA/American Strong Ale. Great malt/hop balance. Complex flavors are dancing around on my palate, grapefruit, pine, citrus and malts. This beer is more than worthy of all the acclaim it getting. This may be the best IPA I have ever tasted. Hoppy and malty, yet incredibly smooth. WOW. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Finish is very slightly bitter. No noticeable alcohol despite the 9.5%
VERY HUGE BIG Props to Hopsrus for this gem.
