Commercial Description:
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

Can you say smoothness? Thanks to Matt for returning from Indiana with this beauty! There are absolutely no out of place flavors and the fruity hops. Some caramel malt sweetness, but the hops dominate. It is nice and bitter in the finish, with lingering orange flavor. fantastic.

Orange-copper with good, white head / Nose of fresh pine, citrus and spun sugar / Medium, creamy hop body with undertones of sweet, syrupy malts, and fine finish / Rich flavors of fresh cut pine, orange peel, peach, mango, and spun sugar / Dreadnaught v. Dog 90 for supremacy?

Bomber. Pours a cloudy orange with a small, off white head. A lot of bubbles rising to the top. Smell is sweet, floral hops. Very sweet. The hops aren’t overwhelming, in the aroma at least. A lot of citrus in the aroma as well. Taste is hoppy, bitter, oily, and tingly in the mouth. The sweet and citrus notes in the aroma are prevalent in the taste as well. A never ending bitter finish. This is an interesting beer. Complex with a nice balance between the citrus and bitter flavors. Re-rate. After having 3 bottles of this I can say that the freshness factors in significantly. My initial rating was for a pretty old bottle. Since I have tried a relatively fresh one and the hop flavor and aroma are amazing. Absolute perfect taste and a measuring stick for every other hoppy beer. The sweetness is perfect and natural unlike some other cloying IIPAs (I’m looking at you Hercules). Really an amazing beer.

650 ml takeout portion courtesy of General Gao. Fuzzy orange-copper with a medium head that turns to a lasting disc of cream, leaving a touch of frosting all over the glass. Big nose of sweet melon, molasses and orange is countered by some earthy resin, oak and cocoa. Front flavors are a great mix of orange, molasses, brown sugar and grapefruit. Turns to resin, wood, pecan and cocoa just enough to give great balance to the big malt and floral hops. Medium-heavy body is smooth with mild carbonation, lightly tingly with hops, and has a little touch of alcohol warming. The hop recipe/blend in this one is superb; doesn’t seem near as harsh as many others with much less IBUs.

Nice and heavy IIPA. Just about perfect in every way. Hops and floral intenseness that smacks you like Walker: Texas Ranger. POW!

Bomber. pours hazy orange w off white head, Aroma is Hops , citrus and a little pine. Taste is hops and citrus. Bitter finish but no soap taste you get with other IIpa. FFF does hops better than anybody else. No suprise they have the best iipa.

Intense hops aroma, intense hops taste. Also some sweetness to the aroma that lingers well. Long finish with a bit of citrus taste.

Bomber. Pours a coppery orange with a cream colored head. Smells really nice... hoppy and sweet. Tastes very hoppy, but balanced nicely with that same sweet peachiness. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy. Wow-nice. Re-rate: I had a second bottle of this which was not incredibly fresh and nowhere near as good. Be aware there is a drastic difference between fresh Dreadnaught and old Dreadnaught.
