Many spring flowers and no alcohol burn whatsoever. Rich dark golden color and a nicely frilly head, although it doesn’t last too long, it does linger on the top for awhile. Hazy orange/amber body, medium-sized white head. Aroma VERY citrusy; orange and grapfruit dominate, with some alcohol present. Flavor is bold and hoppy, again more citrusy than piney. Very thick mouthfeel, much more so than I experienced with DFH 90 min or Stone Ruiniation. I’d like to do a taster of all three at the same time, but since I can’t I’ll have to say this is my favorite. If you knew how much I like the other two you’d know how much of a complement this is. This is a great beer. Rated at 4.5
Re-rate for Jan ’05. Thanks DavidP for sending this. It was sooo nice to revisit this wonderful ale. Interestingly, this new bottle was not near as hazy as the last ones I had...this time it was a nice translucent amber-orange with that nice small white head that dissipates quickly. I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been uttered about this very fine I2PA. My only regret is that I can’t touch it here in the panhandle of FL. Maybe someday..... Rated at 4.7...yep, it’s that good.

Nose is breathtaking, brings you into a lush forest of pines, persimmons, and peahens. Explosions of grapefruit rind mingle with bright, vibrant pinecones and soft, light fruits to weave a delicious tapestry of a mysterious dream. Fresh indian spices seem to soar somewhere near the top, electric and exciting. Further underneath is a soft caramel and a quiet weeping. Vibrant, exciting, transcendent, and worthy of the highest respects and most solemn honors. RoboHop (21), Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, USA

A very hoppy flavor as well, with a smooth, creamy palate. It reminded me of a "triple" IPA. Dreadnaught is a classic example of the American DIPA style. jseremet (5), USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 4, 2008 I love this beer. I live in soCal, so it’s nowhere to be found. Fruity, hearty and wonderful. Maybe a bit too sweet, but it’s a very, very minor complaint. Found it while with my girlfriend outside her folks’ place near Chicago. I had it to celebrate the Patriots going 16-0, and it did NOT disappoint. I have one more bomber left, and will drink it when the Pats (hopefully) go 19-0. Cheers! And someone tell these guys to broaden their distribution. All of their stuff is dynamite. Pours a hazy orange color with a sold white head and a gorgeous lace. The aroma is strong and piney at first followed by orange and sweet melon with some mild floral notes. The flavor is wonderfully complex, very bitter and hoppy. Instantly fruity with notes of melon and mango with some good citrus and pine notes. This is wildly balanced with a big malty sweetness that in no way detracts from the big hop flavor but seems to work as a backdrop really allowing the hops to showcase their flavor all the while providing a pleasant balance for their bitterness. The mouth feel is big with a nice sharpness mid palate. Try this beer by any means necessary.

Aroma of grapefruits and maybe some lime and cotton candy. Lively carbonation and great citrus bitterness from the hops and very well balanced with the malt. Maybe a little more malt than hops is there, but the bitterness lingers longer than the sweetness. I enjoyed this one a lot and would never turn another one down.
