Commercial Description:
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

A sparkling golden amber color that is dampened by mild cloudiness. A thick head and heavy lacing. An aroma consisting of hops that has grapefruit and wheat influences protruding through. The mouth enjoys a mild tingle sensation when the beer first touches the tongue. A sweet mixture of hops and citrus perk all the taste buds in the mouth. The remnants of hops lingers on captivating the palate for many moments after the fluid has left the mouth.

Nothing surpasses the joy I feel when a new batch of Dreadnaught hits the local stores. Well, almost nothing. If you are planning to consume this beer it must be poured into the proper glassware. If you do not have this, wait to consume the beer. Poured into a tulip of course, this beer is orange, with an inch of white head. It fades, but maintains a small head. Some lace clings to the glass. It has been far to long since I have enjoyed this smell. I could get a similar effect from sniffing a pine cone. Some citrus is thrown in there as well. This is the finest nose of any IIPA I have encountered. I feel the same way about the taste. There is a barrage of piney, citrus infused artillery, with a single burst of sweet, caramel malt fire in the midst of all that. The mouthfeel is lightly, very creamy. That is not a typo. Drinkability is high. I use that word often, so to be more specific, I have been known to drink three of these in a night. I’m just rambling here, but wine connoisseurs pay a lot more for a comparable amount of the finest wines in the world, however, many breweries put out equally world class beers at considerably less price. Edit: I must blame my 4.5 appearance score the last time on a dirty glass. Tonight’s pour into a thoroughly rinsed glass yielded the two inch head and blanketing lace that I expect from IN’s finest. Pours out really heavy. Smells like a forest. I can smell pine, grass, leaves, wood. I can also smell a wonderful amount of grapefruit and hops. Mouth feels very full of sweet fruit, pine, and a ton of hops with a GREAT TASTE of bitterness at the end. Wonderful lacing. Nothing is wrong with this beer.

Pours with a luscious copper-orange color with a thick head. An amazing aromatic hop bouquet. A huge floral sticky-lips hop flavor of citrus and pine, a little alcohol burn with a sweet malty finish. Great lacing. This is easily one of my all-time favorites, and perhaps my perfect beer.

Intense aromas of resinous pine, cannabis, and citrus. Creamy head with delicate lacing and deep orange color. Flavors...beyond words...a beer epiphany...

Bottle from Capones gift from Stegosaurus, sampled with Dennis Bell. I will keep this short. Absolutely the best IPA I have ever had. Looks great tastes great is great. WELL BALANCED ! The cerimonial humping of the bottle was done.
