Ultra sweet and malty, touch of alchohol flavor, and one of the most amazing hop profiles to be found among beers--pleasant level of bitterness, hints of lemony or grapefruit citrus, and a sublime floral bouquet not unlike a violet candy. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Man, what a damn good beer. I am so sucker punched by these beers that provide such good flavor within their category but also so much beyond it as well. This IPA is surely hopped adequately and bitter enough, but they take a back seat as the wonderful creamy/rummy/chewy flavor and mouthfeel present themselves. A bit fruity (I mean beyond the typical IPA citrus) and slightly nutty - like hazelnut or butternut. A big, complex IPA that really sets the bar a bit higher. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

I love balanced beers--slightly hoppy Dortmunder, a dry Pils, an aromatic, fruity Weizen--this one is not balanced, but is absolutely wonderful. Not terribly bitter, it must be noted. Tends a bit toward barleywine as it warms.
Old: I couldn't stop laughing when we opened and poured this hop monster: it was so far over the top. The flavor was astonishing. The alpha and omega of Super-IPA. Sticky, citric, lightly herbal and sweet. My favorite sippin' IPA. Many thanks, LiebeBier. jtw (944), farmington, Michigan, USA

The mouth feel and the citrus carry over is a fantastic ride.If your an IPA drinker this is heaven. If you stayed away from IPA's because of hoppeness try this brew. You may never buy anything else. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Big pine and citrus aroma. Lots of tangy grapefruit, pine and floral flavors. Slightly sweet, candy and alcohol finish. Still manages to be refreshing for such a big beer, not overwhelming. I was expecting a lot and I got it! drainey (231), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Slightly cloudy light orange body with a small white head. Wonderful aroma of hops, orange, grapefruit, lemon, and lime. Flavor is bold and complex. I tasted lots of different hop flavors and lots of different citrus. Very hoppy, but not bitter or alchoholic. Refreshing, clean finish. Easily the best IPA I’ve had. Well, duh, it’s an Imperial...you have to respect anyone who can brew a beer this big and still have consuming it be a plesant experience... CONDITIONS: MOWING/WORKING ON CAR-
