Sharp American hop taste from the begining to the lingering finish yet is balanced by some malts, somewhat sweet at times. A full bodied huge beer with the alcohol well hidden. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

I love balanced beers--slightly hoppy Dortmunder, a dry Pils, an aromatic, fruity Weizen--this one is not balanced, but is absolutely wonderful. Not terribly bitter, it must be noted. Tends a bit toward barleywine as it warms.
Old: I couldn't stop laughing when we opened and poured this hop monster: it was so far over the top. The flavor was astonishing. The alpha and omega of Super-IPA. Sticky, citric, lightly herbal and sweet. My favorite sippin' IPA. Many thanks, LiebeBier. I've had this three different ways: on tap at a beer fest, on a hand pull at a great beer bar, and finally in 650 mL bottles tonight. Great balance with sweet malty undertones. Strong citrus hop as well, but not too bad. Sometimes a little sweeter for an Imperial IPA than I might like (especially on hand pull) but still very above average. I guess there is more than corn in Indiana. Thanks Three Floyds!!! rdog (10), Hammond, Indiana, USA

Hop aromas bubbling up to your nose from 3 feet away. Immediate hops explosion up front, slightly syrupy, woody, and citrus midway through with a carmel maltiness in the finish to balance it out. A hopheads dream brew. verymerrymonk (257), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 17, 2004 The pour leaves a cloudy, deep orange body, topped by a small white head with great lacing. Aroma of piney hops and citrus fruits. Taste is of grapefuits and oranges, intense, fresh hops, and a sweet maltiness that balances out the flavor. Mouth is big and thick and the finish is long, slow, and dry. I had waited for this one for a while and it lived up to every expectation that I could have had. Awesome. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 9, 2005 BAM finally get to try this bad boy, and it was worth the wait. First of all I’ll thank BUNKYPOP for sending me this all the way from Illinois! Pours a dark gold body, with some cloudy orange properties. Head is just off-white, short lived and medium sized. In the end the head just sorta sat around the edge of the glass. Aromas are a huge blast of hops, citrus (lemon and orange), sweet malty candies, and some grassy notes too. Complex! Taste is like a hops train coming straight for your mouth, and it explodes in your mouth. HUGE HOPS, bitterness, orange peel, candied malts, grainy and grassy, and a slight boozey warmth. Finish is boozey and warming, huge bite in the mouth. Long lasting hoppy aftertaste. Suprisingly smooth and enjoyable for the alcohol content. Awesome and prime example of the style. Well done Three Floyds!
