twindadplus2 (364), Wisconsin, USA Nov 5, 2007 Something special for my 300th review (and the Packers 7th win).
Slightly hazy light copper color with a very thin film of a head. Very sweet, fruity aroma with a bit of brown sugar. Flavor of sweet malt up front and then a heavy dose of piney hops with a sharp hebal bitterness at the finish. Wonderfully complex, flavorful beer. It would be fun to give this to a Bud light drinker just to watch his head explode.
fishingnet (928), Brandon, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a hazy golden with a one finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, citrus hops, a hint of pine, light fruit, and a touch of caramel. Taste is citrus hops, sweet malt, pine hops, caramel, and tropical fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. A damn fine brew Sammy (3240), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 25, 2008 Thanks Hopdog. A very good and very drinkable hoppy beer that is soft of the palate and yet offers an orange led fruitiness. Excellent example of style. Alcohol not in taste but certainly in knockout punch. Great with meaty supper. bierkoning (5077), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 4, 2008 Bottle from Secret Santa. Orange color. Grapefruit, red berries, flowery oily hops and chalk in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with an ointment mouthfeel. Firm flowery oily hops with grapefruit and berries. But all the fruit and hops don’t bury the alcohol. Therefore an alcoholic and quite hopbitter finish. A big but still likeable beer. JK (2509), uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Sep 3, 2008 From Badgerben. Moderate hops and malt, almost a west coast barleywine. Some fruit and sugar, fructose, peach. Sweet malt and very low carbonation. The high abv is well hidden, and it is not present in the aroma or the flavor. Bockyhorsey (2056), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 31, 2008 22oz bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pine aromas stand out with some caramel. Murky orange body with off white head. Big caramel sugar malt backbone for flavor. Some citrus in the background. Smooth enjoyable brew on the palate good beer.
