BückDich (4484), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 9, 2008 Bottle: Misty copper, thick white head and lacing. Nose of light suntan lotion, bright grapefruit and lime, toasted marshmallow, caramel. Super bitter flavor, lots of dry and bitter hops, creamy nutty malts. Strong finish of alcohol and citrus. Surprisingly balanced finish though. Thanks Jake!
abcfan (129), USA Jul 7, 2008 Thanks bu11zeye! Pours a dark amber orange with very little head. Aroma is dark fruit and caramel. Medium body on tongue, very slick with little carbonation. Warms yu up in a hurry, alcohol very present throughout. Nice brew. Bigsilky (222), North Carolina, USA Jul 6, 2008 Orange amber hue, gossamer foam. Fresh evergreen and citrus rind. Medium body on the palate and a wave of hops with a passive malt presence. Layered hop complex, which one should expect from this concern. Smell and Taste are one. The nectar smells piney, fresh, and bitter, as does the palate feel, and the lingering hop finish agrees. The malt has no solo but builds the stage expertly. Slightly boozey at first, the coat comes off and the dress reveals much. Well done. AndrewKScott (221), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jun 30, 2008 I made a little trip down to Lush Wine and Spirits on 1257 S. Halsted to pick up a growler of Fantabulous Resplendence for my 200th review. Pours a dark orange with very little head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops, with perfume and earth notes. Taste is heavy on the hops, similar to a double IPA. There’s a bit of dried and citrus fruits, and even honey. Mouthfeel is creamy, clean, and a bit sticky, however the carbonation is pretty light. I think I’d like to try this in bottles also, but overall another solid brew from Three Floyds. Shag (1749), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Jun 14, 2008 Good thing the commercial description isnt cocky or anything. This beer loses an overall point for that shit. Anyway a dark orange color with a fading white head. The aroma is slightly hoppy with some sour fruit notes. The flavor is very IPA like with some oranges and lemons. A good malt presence with this one as well. Good beer overall. jcwattsrugger (3733), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 9, 2008 22oz bottle@Noogfest4.0-thanks to decaturstevo–pours a white ring for a head and gold color. Aroma is perfumy/sweet citrus hops. Taste is dry, perfumy/sweet citrus hops-bitter, secondary malt, alcohol.
