Commercial Description:
Our small, well respected brewery is based on creating uncompromising artisinal ales of unusual character, which is what this, our 10th anniversary ale, is. Strong, hoppy, unique and delicious, defying definition. Enjoy, and thanks to all who have supported us through these 10 years. I made a little trip down to Lush Wine and Spirits on 1257 S. Halsted to pick up a growler of Fantabulous Resplendence for my 200th review. Pours a dark orange with very little head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops, with perfume and earth notes. Taste is heavy on the hops, similar to a double IPA. There’s a bit of dried and citrus fruits, and even honey. Mouthfeel is creamy, clean, and a bit sticky, however the carbonation is pretty light. I think I’d like to try this in bottles also, but overall another solid brew from Three Floyds.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Orange color. Grapefruit, red berries, flowery oily hops and chalk in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with an ointment mouthfeel. Firm flowery oily hops with grapefruit and berries. But all the fruit and hops don’t bury the alcohol. Therefore an alcoholic and quite hopbitter finish. A big but still likeable beer.

From Badgerben. Moderate hops and malt, almost a west coast barleywine. Some fruit and sugar, fructose, peach. Sweet malt and very low carbonation. The high abv is well hidden, and it is not present in the aroma or the flavor.

22oz bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Pine aromas stand out with some caramel. Murky orange body with off white head. Big caramel sugar malt backbone for flavor. Some citrus in the background. Smooth enjoyable brew on the palate good beer.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of weeare138. Poured a medium orangish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, and some pine. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and some fruitiness. For being over a year old, there was still some nice hop presence. Alcohol content well hidden.

(bottle thanks Badgerben!) Pours dark gold with no head. Aroma is strong with citrus hop (mostly orange), and some floral honey. The taste is really sweet to begin with, featuring flavors of honey, caramel, that switches to a finish that possesses a light tea-like astringency. Medium bodied, not too bad.
