Pours out a light gold color with no head at all. Smell is sweet and somewhat hoppy, but it lacks something.. not sure what. Taste is weird, sweet, not hoppy at all, and just almost flat tasting. To me this beer tastes like you ate a handful of European hops, drank 4 bombers of Gumball head, pissed in a bottle, capped it, and called it Gorch Fock. I come to expect alot from FFF, as do most people (I believe), and for them to release something like this is just disappointing, and it hurts the wallet. Sean left the sticker on this, presumably so I could be in shock. 10 bucks? ok, whatever I am sick of the FFF is expensive argument too, but for 10 bucks I would buy Dreadnaught all day before even considering this. The label is pretty sweet though. Labels dont make the beer though. Also, for 10 dollars I would expect more than Gumballhead after it was run through a bladder. jcr (1179), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Yellow-gold pour with short, frothy white head. Aroma is pilsner-like, notes of grass and lemon and hints of bready malts. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. There is a light flavor of citrus in the background. Nice texture — crisp and comfortably carbonated. A quiet and tasty beer from Three Floyds, but at $10 a bomber, this is overpriced. Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold offers lots more bang for the buck in this style. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2007 $10 for a 4.5% beer? Yeah FFF! Pours a honey orange color with a small white head. The nose smells rather beery, with light grassy hops and lots of pilsen malt. Drinks really crisp, with more grass and pine hops dominating. Finishes dry. A nice beer, but come on guys. Put in a sixer for $7.99 and I’d drink it all year long. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Bottle purchased for 9.49 in Chicago. Pours a pale golden with very lively carbonation bubbles and a rocky white head. Aroma of hay, doughy bread, dried leafy herbs, and even some lemon. Medium to light bodied with a slight thin texture. Initial flavor of sweet biscuit and pils that transitions to a grassy and leafy hop middle. Crisp finish with some slight citrus accents. Overall, the flavors are very soft on the palate. Decent, and very refreshing. I drank this along with a Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. The Great Lakes had a bit more depth in the malt profile, and was a bit more solid. I hate to jump on the FFF price complaint bandwagon, but this stuff is WAY overpriced. Great Lakes is 7.99 a six, this is 9.49 per 22 ounce. Dickinsonbeer (3497), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Bomber thanks to Axilla. Pours a typical light gold, moslty clear and a thin white head. Aroma is herbal noble hops (wow no amarillo?!) earthy, light bready pils mlats as well- doughy with a wierd tart tanginess. Good bready malt flavor with some grassiness, earthy and spicy hops- and a decent clean cirsp hop finish with a bit of fruity esters. Not as clean or crisp as could be and just doesnt match up to the great german Helles examples. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Bottle from EithCubes - Thanks! Pours a light gold color with just a bit of haziness, medium white head. Nose is light and malty with a bit of wheat. Tastes of wheat, malt, just a bit of citrus, and a twinge of apple juice. May not be a great brew by 3F, but it sure is fun to cheer ’Gorch Fock!’ BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Bottle: Pours a lightly misty yellow color with a quickly dissipating head. The nose is a bit herby with some husk and malt. Some wheat and funk melds with the yeast. The flavor is citrusy, with some syrupy wheat and a crisp hoppy bitter note. Fairly odd and thin for 3 floyds. The finish is grassy and light. Eh. Good for a helles. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA

Honey and a bit of stale cardboard. Light and sweet honey and cornflakes. Lively carbonation and a slighty UK hop bite.
