sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 15, 2009 bottle as an extra BA trade.
Pours clear copper with thin white head.
Aroma is hoppy, citrus and light grains.
Taste, hoppy with light citrus / grapefruit notes and palate, wheat.
Not a strong beer, but overly enjoyable and complex. Finish leaves a bitter and nice silky touch on the palate. Block (363), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 14, 2009 Hazy yellow-orange pour with a white head. Aroma of yeast, hops, and citrus. Nice flavor of hops upfront with sweet malt finish. weitz15 (67), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 14, 2009 12 oz bottle. Very dry and hoppy for my taste. The drink was not refreshing at all, especially for what was once a "summer brew". Aroma was similar to the taste. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Feb 12, 2009 Bottle from Archer Liquors. Poured a clear orange gold color with a decent fine white head. Nice grapefruit aroma. Surprising. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is distinctly hoppy. Beautiful, except for a certain graininess between sips. Just an excellent weizen! nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 10, 2009 On tap at FFF in Munster, IN. Not your grandma’s wheat beer. Golden color with a white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and way more Amarillo hops than you expect. Flavor is wheat and grapefruity hops - excellent choice of hop variety. Medium-bodied, pretty nice for the style. dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Feb 9, 2009 12 ounce bottle courtesy of cdumler. Thanks! Pours a light amber color with a small head. Average head retention and lacing. Clear. but with small white particles. Very nutty aroma, reminiscent of sunflower, with some fruity hop notes. Taste is also strongly suggestive of sunflower seeds with pecan, honey and subtle hop notes. Medium bodied. BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 5, 2009 Updated: Jul 10, 2009Bottled. I completely agree with the commercial description. Obviously one of the brewers and not the ad folks developed this. The amarillo hops really make this a unique and easy drinking wheat ale. By far my favourite wheat beer so far. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Feb 3, 2009 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus hops and wheat. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Simple but very good.
