Aroma: HOPS! Citrusy, lemon, sweet.
Appearance: Light, golden, bubbly. White, small carbonated head that dissipates quickly.
Flavor: Intense mouthful of hops. Tons of hop aftertaste. Lemon and fruity in the middle. Wheat.
Palate: Decently high carbonation. Smooth. Really rolls of the tongue. Light.
Overall: Well...Three Floyd’s keeps impressing me. This is the best "wheat" beer I’ve ever had. Props to the boys in Munster on this one. Actually, I had this on tap during Darklord Day in 2008 and it was even better. Droptank (79), Spring, Texas, USA Jul 7, 2008 Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy, citrus. That is that! Hopheads will love it, not bad. BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a translucent golden yellow with bits of sediment floating around. Head is bubbly and white and quickly diminishes. The aroma... wow... Imperial Wheat Beer? Hops are so prevalent here. Lots of pine tons of white grapefruit. Wheat is somewhat distinguishable behind the intense hop aroma. The flavour is surprisingly very well balanced as opposed to the aroma. Pine isn’t as strong in the flavour, though, grapefruit is still a dominant flavour. The wheat is more distinguishable. Subtle roastiness appears then fades almost instantly as the brew passes the tongue. Towards the finish, pine becomes a little more evident. The finish has some nice round, smooth citric notes that’s well complemented with a bready dryness and a light bitterness. This is very thirst quenching. This is, by far, the best American Wheat I’ve ever allowed access to my taste buds. mattmc1973 (300), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jul 4, 2008 Updated: Jun 13, 2009On draught at the Map Room in Chicago. Hazy gold with frothy white head. Aroma extremely hoppy and citrusy. Tastes very bitter, not what I would expect from a wheat beer. Smooth fizzy mouthfeel. I like wheat beers, but it being this hoppy, just not my thing.
Updated rating: I’ve become more of a hop-head, and appreciate this one upon re-tasting. brewandbbq (269), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 23, 2008 Pours pale, hazy gold, with a half-inch head of white. A few white, flakey particulates make their way to the bottom.
Retention is fairly brief, and no lacework.
Aromatics lead off wit a blast of peaches, melons, and tangerines. Extremely tropical and fresh.
A hint of lemon zest follows through.
On the light side of medium bodied, somewhat crisp and creamy also.
Peach halves, mangos, and juicy citrus start the pallet. Sugared pink grapefruit steps forward and theres a hint of malt.
Bitterness is nill, and the beer drinks quick.
Finishes with shades of apricots, peach fuzz, and papaya.
I had this years ago, and was not impressed. This one, however is top-notch, and I’m tasting quite fresh.
Plenty of hoppy goodness in the nose and middle.
Yum.

Nose is sweet like honey and some bitter hoppiness. Flavor is the same., with bitter hops standing out more. Clean finish. darn1207 (529), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 14, 2008 bomber from marino’s in toledo. grapefruit and hop smell - golden color with a fairly sticky large white head. light lemon-lime hop taste with a malt and wheat backbone. quick finish, but balanced overall. very drinkable. K-8 beezz86 (68), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 13, 2008 Bottle. Beer poured a clear golden color with very minimal white head that disappeared quickly. I really liked the aroma of this beer as the hoppiness of this beer really made it’s presence known. The beer had a light body, thin texture, avarage to lively carbonation and a slightly bitter aftertaste. It has an interesting flavor combination of citrus (slightly lemon) and bitterness. Overall, this was an interesting beer. I will definately have to come back to it again and see if my opinion has changed. It was different from traditional wheat ales that I am used to. I did enjoy the hops.
