JCB (1713), Durham, North Carolina, USA Apr 1, 2008 22oz from From the Vine, Columbus. I’ve been eager to try this for a while now, and it’s a pleasant, refreshing beer on this first truly warm day of the year. Golden and full bodied, with an energetic, overflowing head. It’s got a pleasant aroma, with ripe peaches, modest spice, and sweet flowers. The body’s just a touch thin, and the finish is bitter and dry. Pretty good. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 30, 2008 12oz bottle from Nora’s Fine Wines (Indianapolis). Pours a golden caramel with a thick, frothy white head. Aroma: sweet and citrusy with a nose of apricot and peaches. Flavor: Sweet and spicey with ripe peach and apricot overtones. Grapefruit bitterness on finish. Excellent and refreshing wheat ale. gunsho (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 30, 2008 nice deep golden amber color with a aerated white head. wheaty, with lots of citric acid and good floral notes. not my favorite style but a good example of a wheat. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2008 12 oz. bottle via trade from Acknud. Pours straw yellow/gold with a small, fizzy, white head that is rimming. Smells of wheat with sugary, cotton candy type vibe. Taste is skunky wheat with slight fruit, a touch of sweet candy and moderate bitterness. Decent, I"m thinkin’ this one may have had a bit to much age on it, and fresher is better. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2008 Courtesy of Juart. Pours a slightly hazy golden tangerine color w/ a fizzy white head. Strong grapefruit cotton candy aroma with a touch of pine for good measure. A mild bittersweet grapefruit flavor. Doesn’t have many of the usual characteristics of a wheat ale. It is very crisp with a decent amount of citrus. Slight bitterness in the finish, but doens’t leave that much on the tongue. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 27, 2008 From bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Honey, flowery, bit of sulfur, fruity rinds, and nicely hopped. Almost smells like a mead with some lavender and peach. Hazy light amber with a bit of chunky floaters, light off-white head. Medium-light watery body with medium carbonation. Starts rather mild, with a lot of fruitiness. Peach, light flowery hoppiness, fruity sweetness. Very nice mild wheat ale with good bitter finish, mild chalkiness. Light bitter after. Tasty, but perhaps a bit old - hope to try again a bit fresher. satan165 (540), River Grove, Illinois, USA Mar 27, 2008 Updated: Jun 11, 2009nose of huge citrus. malted wheat buoy this to a lighter palate but otherwise its another hop bomb. lack of subtlety or real balance lose points on this one. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Mar 25, 2008 Nice clear orange body with heavy carbonation. Faint white head that left a tiny ring after ten minutes. Sweet floral hop notes with not a hint o wheat. Hops and sweet malt flavors preceded a grainy finish.
