Aroma of wheat, hops with flowery malted tones. Flavour is of a full bodied, hopped wheat beer. Lovely balance, incredible beer. Would love to try on tap. sirpsycho (343), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Three Floyds Gumballhead is a very interesting beer. I have a tough time calling it a true wheat ale because of the strong hop flavor and initial taste. However, the hops seem to disappear as soon as you swallow the liquid.
A nice appearance with a good head, this beer if full of inconsistency. It drinks like an IPA and finishes like a wheat. That said, it is still very good. mcferc4 (56), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Another bottle from StFun, Muchos Gracias. Reasonable head, around a half-inch or so. Yellow gold color, not much yeast visible but definitely present in the aroma. Not too cloudy. Smells fruity and surprisingly hoppy for a Wheat Ale (I guess that’s Three Floyds’ thing, which is fine by me). The taste is really interesting -- much hoppier than other wheat beers that I’ve had. Smooth and has a very nice finish -- bitter and slightly sour. A very good beer. GMCC2181 (855), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

Smelled really fruity, some citrus and pine hops. Taste of hops and over all sweetness. I could see this being a good summer time brew. Very easy to drink. UPDATE Oct 09. Poured into a lager glass. Big head. Nice lemony aroma. Citrus and pine as well. Taste is a light piney and lemon taste. Nice hoppipness in a wheat ale... good brew jj21 (84), Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a surprising clear yellow-orange. I thought there would be cloudiness to it but there was none. Nice 1 inch white head that lasted a while and left great lacing. Slightly more carbonation than your average beer. Good pop on the nose. Great grassy aromas with a touch of citrus. Flavor was outstanding. Probably the best example of the style, at least that I’ve had. Grass and citrus with a yeasty, hoppy finish. AMAZING. Not heavy on the pallet making this very easy to drink. This is a great beer for the warmer season coming up.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Thanks ucusty. Pours a hazy copper amber with a two finger creamy white head. The aroma is wheaty, sour, citrusy, slightly hoppy. Very citrusy, hoppy, I love amarillo hops, wheaty, a bit sour, yeasty, good flavor. Nice hop presence in a wheat. The palate is not too carbonated with a bit of a crispness from the hops. Citrusy finish.
