WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 29, 2008 Hands down the best wheat beer out there. This has some body and a kick to it, and remains very balanced. Complex graininess that has a cool feel to it that wheat beers have - but this makes all the others seem watered down. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 28, 2008 now thats fantastic, interesting golden color, decent white head, nose is big time citrus, and a little wheat. taste is amazing well balanced great pinapple nose, not huge wheat but its there, really really good. so flavorful and i could definatly down a few cases of them. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 27, 2008 Thanks to pilsnerpeter for sharing this one. Very pale golden beer. Aroma is loaded with mango, apricot, and other tropical fruits. Flavour is zesty and fruity with lots of fresh wheaty malts. Lemon and lemongrass flavour. Nice enough brew, but I wasn’t blown away. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 26, 2008 Updated: Jan 15, 2009Poured into a weizen glass, the beer is a cloudy apple juice color with a 1 finger off white head. Modest lacing.
Floral hops tickle the nose, along with pleasantly sweet grain aromas.
Very interesting take on a wheat beer here; floral and piney hops dance with banana phenols and vanilla notes atop a stage built from sweet malt and wheat smoothness. Grapefruit, lemon zest, a little spice and everything is indeed nice. What complexity!
Perfect mouthfeel. Exemplary carbonation, extremely smooth, with a nice drying finish from all those Amarillo hops.
Low alcohol, incredible smoothness, refreshing qualities, and balanced flavors make this beer supremely drinkable. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Jan 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy light yellow color with a frothy white head that condenses but refreshes itself throughout the entire drinking process. Laces the glass slightly. Smells nice and hoppy but mellow hoppy not bitter or aggressive. A little grassy but not overwhelming. Tastes of a well balanced but liberal dose of hops. Great beer to start on if your just getting into hops. Palate is a bit on the thick side for such a light colored brew. Insane carbonation at first but the carbonation fades at about half glass.
Pretty awesome beer, I really dig it and will do my best to get more. Pastor (509), Maine, USA Jan 24, 2008 Thanks kryptic and Jay23 for the opportunity to experience this one
22 oz bomber poured into a Weizen glass produced a clear golden yellow. Along with a large billowy white head that lasts a good long time
Tons of citrus, hops, wheat and yes bubblegum aroma’s fill up my head
A wonderfully clean and crisp palate
The flavors of this one are extremely well balanced for a wheat beer not to sweet not to tart Kind of like Goldilocks “just right”
Very drinkable beer made me think it was summertime even though I’m looking at snow outside my window right now
troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2008 (Tap) Pours a dark golden color with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of fruit and wheat malts. Taste is citrusy and includes a lot of yeast notes. Good palate for the style and a light mouthfeel. Another enjoyable 3F beer! Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Jan 23, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with Acknud. Wow! My first FFF was a great one! Pours a lightly hazed sunrise yellow. Head was white and about 1 finger thick. Peach, apricot, honey, lemon grass and yeast dominate the aroma. On the palate was mostly fruity and a bit yeasty. Hands down the best wheat beer I’ve ever had......Thanks Acknud!
