I was expecting a slam-down version of my favorite style and received a very hollow, watery version of Sunshine Wheat. I am still rating it partly on what I was hoping for, and partly because I am convinced I missed something. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2007 Pours cloudy gold with a white soapy head. Aroma is predominantly hops with notes of leaves, pine, and lemony sweet candy (Amarillo). Softly bitter yet nicely citric as well. Small to medium bodied. If more wheat ales tasted like this I would probably buy a lot more wheat ales! alcrist (3), Silver Lake, Indiana, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 29, 2007 A beautiful beer with a long lasting 2" head w/ great lacing. Nice moderate hoppy flavor w/ a fairly strong citrus finish. Dry on the palate and the flavor is pretty long-lived. Another excellent beer from The Floyds of Munster! stimguy (13), Lake St Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2007 I had this beer from my beer meister at home. This was my first beer from the Three Floyds Brewing Company. It was very good with a citrus finsh almost like grapefruit. I have not had this for a while but I hope to be able to grab a 1/4 barrel next summer. A great wheat ale demitriustown (693), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA

Aroma is nicely hopped for a wheat, with a lemon rind overtone that is quite refreshing. a bit of yeast and wheat notes round out the brew. Pours a somewhat cloudy golden pour with a super fluffy white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste is got a nice hop and citrus texture intermingled with a wheat undertone and light candy-like notes. Palate is somewhat dry with a slightly bitter/sweet tone and somewhat long lived. Overall, I have yet to have a Three Floyd beer that I did not like and this might not be the best wheat ever. It’s still damn good! kmweaver (2436), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of sprinkle. Thanks, Mike! Pours a cloudy, yellowish brown color; enormous, off-white head with fizzy retention. Refreshing amounts of zesty citrus hops and fresh wheat and grassy notes in the aroma; oranges and lemon peel; quite nice nose. Medium mouthfeel: husky wheat and cereal and fresh citrus (lemon and orange) hops upfront; carbonation is a bit spritzy; this tastes more like a very drinkable hybrid IPA/Belgian than any sort of wheat ale I can think of, although the wheatiness is certainly present; nice zing of citrus on the edges of the tongue; well-balanced. Medium, husky wheat and dry citrus finish; very mouthdrying. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Aroma is sweet and citrusy...some floral as well. This is definately the freshest bottle I have had...much more bitter than previous samplings. Hops dominate up front and slowly give way to a bit of malty sweetness. Better bodied than remembered. Highly carbonated and refreshing. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Nice fragrant, sweet and fruity citric hops. Some candy like sweetness in there, and a hint of wheat as it warms, but the hops are the star. Taste is smooth, balanced, yet hops play a big role in the taste as well and make the flavor pop unlike in any wheat beer I’ve ever had. Slow to arrive, but slow to leave nice hearty wheat finish. Wow, this is simply awesome. I wish this were available in Texas. Damn near perfect. One of my new favorite beers.
