demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Oct 22, 2007 12 oz bottle: From trade with pantanap (Thanks!) Aroma is nicely hopped for a wheat, with a lemon rind overtone that is quite refreshing. a bit of yeast and wheat notes round out the brew. Pours a somewhat cloudy golden pour with a super fluffy white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste is got a nice hop and citrus texture intermingled with a wheat undertone and light candy-like notes. Palate is somewhat dry with a slightly bitter/sweet tone and somewhat long lived. Overall, I have yet to have a Three Floyd beer that I did not like and this might not be the best wheat ever. It’s still damn good! kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Oct 21, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of sprinkle. Thanks, Mike! Pours a cloudy, yellowish brown color; enormous, off-white head with fizzy retention. Refreshing amounts of zesty citrus hops and fresh wheat and grassy notes in the aroma; oranges and lemon peel; quite nice nose. Medium mouthfeel: husky wheat and cereal and fresh citrus (lemon and orange) hops upfront; carbonation is a bit spritzy; this tastes more like a very drinkable hybrid IPA/Belgian than any sort of wheat ale I can think of, although the wheatiness is certainly present; nice zing of citrus on the edges of the tongue; well-balanced. Medium, husky wheat and dry citrus finish; very mouthdrying. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 19, 2007 12oz. courtesy of Sprinkle. Pour is a nice golden orange. Small white head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy...some floral as well. This is definately the freshest bottle I have had...much more bitter than previous samplings. Hops dominate up front and slowly give way to a bit of malty sweetness. Better bodied than remembered. Highly carbonated and refreshing. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 18, 2007 Updated: Jan 19, 2009Brilliant golden color with a nice fluffy white head poured into a weizen glass. Nice fragrant, sweet and fruity citric hops. Some candy like sweetness in there, and a hint of wheat as it warms, but the hops are the star. Taste is smooth, balanced, yet hops play a big role in the taste as well and make the flavor pop unlike in any wheat beer I’ve ever had. Slow to arrive, but slow to leave nice hearty wheat finish. Wow, this is simply awesome. I wish this were available in Texas. Damn near perfect. One of my new favorite beers. tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 17, 2007 Bottle @ Brew’s. By far the best "wheat" beer I’ve had. How to improve wheat beer? Add a ton of hops. Love the aroma. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Oct 16, 2007 somewhat yellow clear appearance not what i expected from a wheat. usually unfliltered look. nose of slight lemon zest not sure if i got too much of the gumball thing. however, tried it at gabf which who really knows what it tasted like by the time i got there. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Oct 16, 2007 Bottle from EithCubes - Thanks! Pours a rich golden color with a light haze. Smaller white head. Nose is full of hops. Wow, not what I’d expected. Taste is also hoppy with a good crispness. Some hints of citrus and yeast. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Oct 15, 2007 This was a good wheat beer. Solid aroma blends the yeastiness with the hops. A nice representation of the style.
