Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

Cloudy orange..light beige head...aroma is malty mixed with hops...you can smell the creaminess and bananas...and well the palate is creamy as well...mild malts and hops balanced well and blanketed in a silky and creamy presentation...a bit of stick , left to the lips...lip smackin’ good...lingering flavor, bubbles in the mouth, almost like cotton mouth...most wheat beers don’t have this wonderful hop presence...nice job on individuality... 3 floyds , now get back in Jerzze!!

pours yellow with a one finger bubbly white head. aroma is mostly 3fs’ Amarillo hops, orange peel, and a touch of wheat and malt. has a medium body with descent lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but a bit stronger. has some sediment floating around and a dry hop aftertaste. also has a touch of lemon at the end. as it warms the red wheat comes out a bit more aroma and flavor wise. kind of in between a pride and joy and alpha king with some wheat.

Bottle fermented comething almost blew up when uncapped...Hazy light yellow saffron hue with fizzy white lastine head, some lacing, lemon smell, light texture, not hoppy at all, a bit watery, hint of lemon citrus and light wheat, light, not very complex but very refreshing especially on a hot day. Good packaging too.

Hazy golden pour with tremendous white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruit and Amarillo hops. Flavor is very hoppy and citrusy. Mouthfeel is good and this is a very sessionable beer. This is one of the best wheat beers I’ve had.

Maybe I got a spoiled one, but this didn’t have much oompf. It was thin with minimal flavor and no aroma. I love the alpha king, but this isn’t in the royal family.

On tap at FFF, 9/22/07. Hazy golden beer with nice white foam, very nice lacing. Big Amarillo hop nose, little bit of light maltiness in the aroma also. Very nice wheat malt flavor and great mouthfeel, tends to beat you up with the hops just a little too much.

It is a very unconventional wheat beer. Banana flavors with a hopsy aftertaste, delicious. I’ll agree with a couple of the other raters, it taste more like a IPA than a wheat beer but that definately doesn’t detract from its deliciousness.
