Now, this being 3F, this is a damn good APA, a little bit lighter and refreshing than Alpha King. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Medium gold with an average sized white head. Good carbonation. Aroma is hops, pine, wheat, light spice. Reminds me of new carpet smell. Flavor is light bitter hops, sweet malt, pine, and mild floral. Pretty hoppy for a wheat beer but who cares. A nice summer brew. The finish is quite refreshing and bitter. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA

Pour is slightly hazy and much darker yellow than most American Wheats I have had. Nice white head. Aroma is a touch of wheat, but mostly pine hops. Taste has the hops jumping out at you initially, with big pine flavor. The middle was some nice wheat body, and the finish leads to resinous hops. Overall, an interesting brew, and very well made. gmcase (113), Indiana, USA

Different than most american wheats because it has more hops. Slight, crisp, freshness is added to the style. I really enjoyed it. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA

Very hoppy for the style. Bitter- but more of a pine then citrus. Didn’t have the cloudiness I was expecting. I thought this thing would be loaded with phenols. Very average looking with small head that dissipates quickly. Nose of brown sugar and pine. Bells does wheat much better then FFF. Still a good tasty beer though. This more of an IPA made with wheat. masonjer (563), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2007 Poured a hazy dark yellow. Smelled of wheat and citrus. Taste was a nice fully wheat flavor with a citrusy finish. Way more complex than most wheat beers, this one had an interesting twist. No need for an orange slice, the citrus is already there. Very good wheat beer, but still fairly basic. Best lower abv wheat beer I have had. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

I can see why this is the #1 rated American Wheat. It is hands-down the best I have ever tasted and by a large margin. Pours a hazy gold with a frothy, white head. The nose is of grassy hops, wheat and a faint citrus. Light-bodied and thin with moderate carbonation, it finishes lightly bitter--rare for an American Wheat. The flavor is a sweet wheat with solid grassy and citrus hops. This is, by far, the hoppiest wheat that I’ve ever sampled, but it is still quite well balanced. The Amarillos really dominate the character of this easy drinker, and it makes me wonder why more brewers haven’t tried to do something similar with a wheat. If they sold this in KC, it would be a summer staple in my fridge. Thanks a ton for sharing this one Matt!
