amee16 (62), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA May 8, 2007 I had this on tap at 3Floyds Dark Lord Day. I’m not normally a big fan of wheats these days but this is an exception. Has that nice bitter hoppy flavor that I love with a little sourness... Like lemon zest! Yum! I could drink this all day...
and I did :) michael-pollack (2604), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA May 4, 2007 22oz. Bottle: Lightly sweet, medium bitter aroma. Smells of amarillo hops, pine, resin, vanilla, and a little citrus. All together it kind of smells like a gumball. Poured golden-amber in color with a small, creamy, white head. Small lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter but not sweet or sour. Tastes mainly of hops, with a little lemon, some citrus, wheat, and Amarillo spiciness. Light to medium body. Slightly watery texture. Nice tingly mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Short, hoppy finish. Lots of nice hops but needs a little more malt backbone; body is unbalanced in a negative way. Overall, decent and drinkable but did not meet my expectations. Maybe I just don’t like bubblegum. shp555 (1678), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 4, 2007 Pours a light orange color with a white head. Aroma is of light wheat, and citrus hops. Flavor is slightly wheaty, with a bitter citrus hop finish. A very american hoppy wheat. Cliff (355), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA May 2, 2007 On draft at DLD. Poured a hazy yellow with a thick white head. Great citrus/lemon aroma. Smooth hoppy flavor, not much malt, but a bit of biscuit that goes well with the lemon flavor. A very refreshing beer on a hot day. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Apr 29, 2007 Holy moses, this is what fresh beer is all about. Bought a cup at Dark Lord Day 2007. Color was a yellow-orange with a small head. Aroma was powerfully fruity and sweet. The taste is thirst-quenching at first, making the beer very quaffable until about midway through when the beer gets an IPA flavor to it, but still with a slight sweetness. This is just a straight-up great beer, and I can’t wait to buy it in six packs in my local grocery. Sombeast (151), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 28, 2007 Served in a solo cup at the brewery while waiting in line for my share on Dark Lord Day. Color is golden orange, and somewhat cloudy. Aroma is very refreshing and with a malt sweetness blending with a hop aroma. Flavor similar, again refreshing and much appreciated during the wait in line. A light sourness is present, the most notable part of the mild wheat character. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 24, 2007 22 oz bomber. Poured suprisingly clear for a wheat beer with an average size head. Aroma was sweet with hints of malt, candy, light lemon and as it warmed only a hint of wheat. Flavor was very smooth and balanced but once again was missing the wheat for the most part. This is a good beer but I would of liked to see the wheat a bit stronger in it. mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2007 bottle from dcharms: bpours a clear golden hay colour with a thick foamy head. aroma is a very nice sweet hop aroma and some sweet fruit some lemon also. the flavour is very clean and lemony with an excellent sweetness of hops and fruit. it finishes with the perfect light bitterness to the sweetness. a very clean and crisp refreshing beer.
