Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

Holy moses, this is what fresh beer is all about. Bought a cup at Dark Lord Day 2007. Color was a yellow-orange with a small head. Aroma was powerfully fruity and sweet. The taste is thirst-quenching at first, making the beer very quaffable until about midway through when the beer gets an IPA flavor to it, but still with a slight sweetness. This is just a straight-up great beer, and I can’t wait to buy it in six packs in my local grocery.

Served in a solo cup at the brewery while waiting in line for my share on Dark Lord Day. Color is golden orange, and somewhat cloudy. Aroma is very refreshing and with a malt sweetness blending with a hop aroma. Flavor similar, again refreshing and much appreciated during the wait in line. A light sourness is present, the most notable part of the mild wheat character.

22 oz bomber. Poured suprisingly clear for a wheat beer with an average size head. Aroma was sweet with hints of malt, candy, light lemon and as it warmed only a hint of wheat. Flavor was very smooth and balanced but once again was missing the wheat for the most part. This is a good beer but I would of liked to see the wheat a bit stronger in it.

bottle from dcharms: bpours a clear golden hay colour with a thick foamy head. aroma is a very nice sweet hop aroma and some sweet fruit some lemon also. the flavour is very clean and lemony with an excellent sweetness of hops and fruit. it finishes with the perfect light bitterness to the sweetness. a very clean and crisp refreshing beer.

Thought it was ok in bottle. But tasted very nice on tap at the 3F brewpub. I’m very picky about wheat beers-- and this is one of the few I like. Maybe because it has the typical 3F hop profile.

The worst FFF beer Ive ever had. But that aint a bad thing cause FFF rules. A nice light gold color with lots of citrus aroma and taste. Not as creamy as I’d like, but a great example of a wheat beer as you will find.

Pours a golden color with a nice white foamy head. Aroma of hops, fruit and wheat. Nice balance. A touch of bitterness in the finish. Very nice. A solid beer.

22oz. Pours a translucent golden color with an airy white head that shortens quickly. Some nice lacing. Aroma is light fruit, citrus, tiny bit of hops, lemons, some candy. As it warms a small amount of wheat and cereal is present in the smell. Taste is surprisingly light with a nice touch of subtle hops. Incredibly smooth and easy to drink. A little bit more flavor would be nice. The citrusy hops is a nice touch though I crave a bit more wheat character, which I hardly detected at all. Very mild compared to Three Floyd’s other stuff. Re-rate: The bomber I had before was a year old when I drank it, I have now discovered. Drinking this fresh on tap was a completely different experience. Huge hop aroma and flavor. Very tasty. A great combo of hoppiness and drinkability. Definitely the best beer in its class.
