moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA Dec 9, 2006 Hoppy aroma with some grainy scents as well. Nice see through golden color with a huge white head. The palate is medium with low carbonation. Lots of malt flavors with a bitter finish--reminds me of a pilsner actually. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Dec 8, 2006 Aroma’s were of hops and malt.Pours a very light copper with a big white head.Light malts with some nice hops in the flavor. This beer was a little thin but had some nice hops in the finish.I’ve had this one a while and would like to try this one fresh to see the difference. jtw (942), farmington, Michigan, USA Dec 6, 2006 22 oz bottle from my secret santa! pours wheat-colored with light carbonation, and tons of yellowy citrusy hops - jeez, Three Floyds really like hops. clearly an americanized yeast strain as many of the esters and banana and clove aromas are missing, and are not present in the flavor either. slightly creamy from the wheat but only medium-bodied overall. hoppy finish but not particularly bitter - very drinkable and i like the relatively light 4.8%, it would be easy to drink a good amount of this. in fact, one of few beers i don’t mind in 22 oz ’bomber’ form. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 5, 2006 Updated: Jan 15, 2008Bomber. Pours a hazy amber with a large head. Very good retention. Aroma of lemon, wheat and citrus/hops. This is one of my favorite wheat beers.
Tastes of grapefruit, pears, a little balancing sweet malt. Spicy with a clean finish.
Bartzilla (441), San Diego, California, USA Dec 2, 2006 I’m with Naven on this one. Overhyped. Nothing too special to taste here. Other FFF beers are marginally better, but this one didn’t live up to the hype. Just your standard, thin hefe that completely falls flat on finish. Almost tasted watered down. Naven (862), Poway, California, USA Dec 2, 2006 It’s official......after 4 different Three Floyds beers, I have to say........I dont get it. What am I missing? What was so special about this beer? it tasted like an average american wheat beer. Absolutely nothing set this beer apart from anything else in it’s category. Very average. reedcd2 (47), USA Nov 27, 2006 subtle hops in the aroma, nice filtered cloudy body, but no lasting head. no single taste is overwhelming. somelight fruits, but nothing really jumps out - very smooth, very drinkable. the same subtle hops in the aroma resonate in the taste, not too wheaty or mealy for a wheat beer. rickgordon (3285), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 20, 2006 [Bottled. Thanks Kramer.]
Clear amber colour. Rich aroma from u.s. hops, with pine, sweet oranges and canned exotic fruits. Bit plastic also. Hops totally dominate the aroma. Flavour is exotic fruits in syrup, with loads of hops and balanced bitterness. Rounded mouthfeel with oranges. Easy drinking. Meduza-like mouthfeel.
