imzugzug (103), Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 18, 2006 Fluffy white head atop a cloudy near orange pour. Big time citrusy aromas give way to big time citrusy taste. Thirst quenching without being sour. Slight malt noted. Shame it’s mid November, this would have been great on the porch mid August. Marsiblursi (1628), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 14, 2006 (Bottle, thanks beachbum25) Pours clear amber with a fast decreasing white head. Piny, rasiny aroma with some canned pears, orange and cloves. Spicy and sweet. Hints of yeast and malt but no wheat. Wellbalanced, lingering bitterness in flavour with a minty touch. Round and smooth, allmost silky mouthfeel. Some fruityness and small, sweet malty notes. Small to medium body. Very Three Floyd-ish. Very easy to drink. Very nice. nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 9, 2006 Bottle, huge thanks to sersdf on this one. Pours a clear honey color with a sudsy white head. Much hoppier than I was expecting, very light. Cirtus, clean, slightly metallic. Hoppy, slightly bitter flavor, sweet (honey/nectar notes). Clean palate, bubbly, nice. Not a hugely flavorful beer, but I can’t think of any other beer I’d rather drink on a hot summer day. Very nice. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA Nov 6, 2006 Lemon, wheat and hops in the aroma. Very light, citrusy and refreshing. Lots of grapefruit in the flavor without being bitter. Really tasted like a light IPA, great stuff. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 5, 2006 Thnaks Maggie for going out of your way to visit Three Floyd’s for me! Pours a hazy orange color with minimal white head that disappears quickly. Aroma of orange, wheat, lemon, and some hops. Taste is citrus, wheat and hops with a lemony back side. Medium body. Not your average wheat beer. rayg1 (432), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Nov 4, 2006 Pours out a clear orange color with a thin white head. Smells hoppy and sweet like syrup or something. Taste is really great certainly more hops than your averge wheat beer but mild enough not to overpower your palate. Picking up some lemon flavors in there with a bit of spice (nutmeg?) to boot. Although a thing mouthfeel at the end there stil is a slight slick creaminess that lets you know there is more body than at first expected. More like a pale ale and not at all to style but still an awesome beer, my first from Three Floyds and hopefully not my last. 22 oz bomber. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA Oct 25, 2006 From 22oz Bottle. Hazy, golden body with a light naval orange skin hue, topped with a fizzy, quickly dissipating head of banana creme. Hoppy aroma of lemon zest, sweet orange pulp, and granny smith apple skins. Some more mundane notes of under-ripe strawberry add a subtly floral-fruity underlayer. Slightly syrupy, medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Like the head, the carbonation fades quickly on the palate, leaving behind a watery, wheaty residue. Unfortunately, this is the only stylistic hint I get from this beer. I’m left searching aimlessly for a glimpse of pheonlic yeast or hearty wheat character. Instead, I’m finding more of a pale ale thats complimented by a strange, creamy malt backing. The hops are definitely too overpowering for me, as the west coast character even clashes a bit with the wheat bill on my palate. In addition, the body is a bit on the heavy side to be considered refreshing. Interesting concept for a brew and the skillful craftsmanship shines through, but this one’s not for me. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 23, 2006 22 oz bottle. Cloudy amber color with light head. Grainy-lemon aroma that wanders into APA/IPA territory. Complex wheat-lemon-grain taste with a pretty nice amount of hoppiness. Nice mouthfeel & smooth finish. Definately the best wheat beer I’ve ever had - if you can really call this a wheat beer. I don’t think 3Fs can make a mediocre brew.
