Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Sep 26, 2006 Bottle @ Kookfest. Piney apricoty hops. Wheat apparent in the light body. Good hop finish. Tasty. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Sep 17, 2006 <!-- i -->Draft, at The Map Room, Chicago.<!-- /I --><!-- br --> A departure from my favourite styles to enjoy the goodness that is ’Three Floyds’. Bubblegum, wheat esters lifted nicely from the glass. The day was shapping up well.. the tour continued. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 12, 2006 Bottle at Kookfest 06. Gold, off white lasting head. Subtle US hop aroma. Good in mouth, good pale malts, nice body. Good grapefruit finish. Wheat beer with good Amarillo hops. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 10, 2006 Wow! Totally unexpected. It’s more like a hybrid Wheat-IPA. Pours like a hazy IPA. Wheat and citrus hops in the nose. Really nice complexity of flavor between the wheat and the hops, solid finish unlike a lot of wheats. Kudos, 3 Floyds!
JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Sep 9, 2006 Bottle. Pours a rich golden color with a nice fat head. Leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine and cirus. Taste of hops and citrus. This is a nice medium bodied beer that drinks very easy. Smooth flavor with a hint of bitterness. drmatt (51), THE LOU, Missouri, USA Sep 8, 2006 this is hands down the best wheat that have ever had. it may not be true to style necessarily, but ilike this. the amarillo really comes through. pours cloudy, light gold color. beautiful citrus taste. good stuff. wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Sep 8, 2006 Pours a hazy dark gold with a decent thick white head. aroma is sweet malt and flowery dry hopping. Hops dominate the taste, as they tend to with the Floyds, along with a smooth wheat malt sweetness and spice. Very good. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Probably the best American wheat i’ve, which normally wouldn’t say much about the beer, but in this case the beer is actually pretty goood. Typically hoppy Three F’s, lots of lychee style fruityness, mixed with some subtle estery wheat characters. Quite aromatic throughout, and the flavour seems to burst onto your tongue. A little different, but quite interesting.
