Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

Wow! Totally unexpected. It’s more like a hybrid Wheat-IPA. Pours like a hazy IPA. Wheat and citrus hops in the nose. Really nice complexity of flavor between the wheat and the hops, solid finish unlike a lot of wheats. Kudos, 3 Floyds!

Bottle. Pours a rich golden color with a nice fat head. Leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine and cirus. Taste of hops and citrus. This is a nice medium bodied beer that drinks very easy. Smooth flavor with a hint of bitterness.

Pours a hazy dark gold with a decent thick white head. aroma is sweet malt and flowery dry hopping. Hops dominate the taste, as they tend to with the Floyds, along with a smooth wheat malt sweetness and spice. Very good.

Bottle. Probably the best American wheat i’ve, which normally wouldn’t say much about the beer, but in this case the beer is actually pretty goood. Typically hoppy Three F’s, lots of lychee style fruityness, mixed with some subtle estery wheat characters. Quite aromatic throughout, and the flavour seems to burst onto your tongue. A little different, but quite interesting.

650mL bomber. Poured a great honey golden brown with a minimal but lingering ring of a head. Not much in the way of aroma but there is some sweetness and maltiness. Very fragrant and flowery taste, similar to carnations. Nice full body, with some telltale hops giving it some good dryness. Has a very unique aftertaste, very herbally and flowery. Has some IPA qualities to it, and yep, some bubblegum. A great wheat beer.

Bottle - first AW. Powerful citric hop aroma, light yeastiness. Lemony, sure, but not at all gumbally (only time you’ll ever hear that adjective). Pours a hazy, orange-accented golden with a creamy, lacing tan head. Very strong hoppy taste, citrus is there but overshadowed by a newfound bitterness. Wheat establishes itself, even comes across as assertive, but this still tastes much more like a pale ale than a wheat. Creamy feel, medium body. Strange to have such a hoppy nose on a wheat beer, and I’m not sure that I like hoppy bitterness paired with wheat ... but it’s interesting enough for me to buy another (clean and refreshing, after all).
