BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 3, 2006 22-oz. bottle from tjthresh. Pours deep golden straw with a foamy white head, mostly lasting, sticky lace. Aroma is fruity floral hop, citrus and pine, spruce, grapefruit, yeast (sour dough, sweat), malt (grain, meal), nearly all hops. Heavy bitterness and acidity, spicy hops, citrus and pine, sour yeast, grainy malt, grapefruit, hint of sweetness at the end. Medium bodied, fizzy-spicy palate and a dry finish. twindadplus2 (408), Wisconsin, USA Aug 3, 2006 Pale gold with a slight haze and a beautiful pillowy head. Aroma is citrus, pine and a whiff of malt. Flavor is a nice balance of citrus and piney hops, malt and wheat. Body is a bit heavier than I expected for a wheat but this one still goes down really well on a summer evening. holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2006 Updated: Dec 1, 2007on tap @ The Globe Pub - Chicago: First off I was surprised this was an American Wheat, b/c although it did have wheat it tasted more like an APA than a wheat (but that’s ok i enjoy APAs much more). Aroma is light but well done for the style: Wheat, malt, and tangerine. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Flavors balanced pretty well of citrus, fruit, malt, and wheat. It would be very easy to drink a few of these on a hot day like today. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Aug 1, 2006 Updated: Aug 3, 2007In the bomber bottle from HyVee Council Bluffs. Yummy! Standard pale ale-looking gold color with a big thick fluffy white head. This was a totally clear beer- no floating yeast, not even in the bottom (?). Medium carbonation. Very nice sweet and hoppy aroma. Flavor has a strong sweetness, but with a pronounced medicinal quality. Aroma is also quite lemony. The up front sweetness is followed by a nice hop piney blast and then finishes with lots of citrus lemon-like flavors. So very good. UPDATE 8/3/7: This year, it does not taste as good to me. perhaps I scored a bad bottle. Thin and lemony, but no complexities. So sad! CaptKirk (175), Hephzibah, Georgia, USA Jul 31, 2006 This is a slap in the face wheat! I loved it! Cloudy and very carbonated with a citrus aroma. Grapefruit overtones that last all the way. If you like a flavorful wheat, this is the one! beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Jul 28, 2006 22 oz bomber- Pours a cloudy golden color w/a small white head & lots of carbination. Fruity, pine, citrus aroma. Has a lot more up front hops than you would normally get in a wheat-but they don’t overpower it like an IPA. Seems more like a fruit beer to me, but it’s hard to categorize it. Sweet, citrus, pine, grassy flavor w/a long crisp somewhat bitter finish. It’s good, it’s refreshing & it’s very different. Very much a "summer beer" jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA Jul 27, 2006 Maybe my expectations were too high, but I am not overly impressed. Looks ok with a thin, quick to depart, white froth. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma of pine, citrus. I gotta give them credit for making an APA and calling it a wheat, but other than that, it is NOT an American wheat. Would like to know the grain bill. Very drinkable, though. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Jul 27, 2006 A bit of a different wheat beer. Had this on tap at KClingers (Hanover). Can definitely smell and taste the hops. Great lemony aroma. Hops adds a little bit of a bite to the taste. Not my favorite wheat, but I’m glad I tried it.
