beerBB (132), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2006 golden yellow and hazy color. slight off-white head. light and crisp on the palate. Aroma is citrus with noticable maltiness. Flavor was nice malt/hop balance with a slight wheat taste underneath. Very good and gread label kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Jun 13, 2006 (bottle) Hazy gold with generous white head. Hops aroma with hints of sweetness. Flavor is an odd mix of some sweetness, banana and clove with the citrus hops. TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 11, 2006 Pours a light hazy golden with a foamy off white head that sustained and left some lacing. Aroma of up front hops, orange, orther citrus, caramel. Not what I expected from an American Wheat, although I did expect the hops from 3 Floyds. Flavor was more of the hoppy/malt balance. Picked up a slight hint of wheat in the flavor along with lemon and caramel. Very enjoyable/refreshing beer with a great hop presence. Hangover (764), Atlanta, USA Jun 10, 2006 22 bomber. Slightly dark copper pour, clear with no sediment and a thin eggshell white head. Some bubblegum in the aroma (I got it right away), mingled with citrusy hops. Mildly efferescent mouthfeel. Very smooth and you can feel the wheat tingling with the hops in the middle. Honestly, not a lot of wheat in this one, but I can see why it’s rated so high. Has all the good easy drinking characteristics of a hefe, and has such a light and crisp hopping throughout that it almost hits upon APA territory. Better than Oberon. Not crazy good. Hell, this stuff is impressive. Jabswitch (206), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 8, 2006 I wish I was lucky enough to live in an area where this beer is marketed. I am from Green Bay and picked up a bottle of Gumball at Sendiks in Milwaukee. This is one of the beers that I have been hoping to find someday, and I found one by chance. Classified as an America Wheat? Poured a small glass. Aroma was lime and pine to me. Like Two-Hearted Ale from Bells. Poured Clear gold. Head (which means nothing to me) would be average as to length and thickness. The hops were superb. Not too bitter - but with that trademark hoppy aftertaste. This is a very good product. Quality speaks volumes. undsioux7 (553), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Jun 8, 2006 Updated: Aug 17, 2006Pours a medium yellow with a medium bubbly off white head. Mostly a hoppy beer but the wheat does show through, especially in the aftertaste that hangs around. Like a mix between a wheat and IPA. mynie (44), Waterloo, Iowa, USA Jun 7, 2006 On tap at the brew pub.
Gumballhead is the world’s coolest cat. He’s killed people.
Why oh why does it not pour as wonderfully as it smells, tastes, and treats. This is a regular dark red brown, with a regular head.
Smells like marijuana, potpourri flowers, candy, hops, sugar, citrus fruits, and love. Everything good and sweet all come together is perfect, intense sinergy.
Tastes so great! Perfectly intense, very heavy start of citrus hops, moving into the more herbal flavors, fruity tea and flowers, ending on sweet candy fruit and gumball candy.
One of the very best beers in the world. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2006 (22oz. bottle) Pours a clear copper body with an average off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pineapple. Flavor of juicy citrusy hops, lightly toasted malt, and caramel. More of an IPA than your typical American Wheat.
