Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

[1040-20080112] 650mL (w/ garthicus, HogTownHarry, jerc, mds, Radek Kliber; Vintage 2007). Sweet citrus navel orange hops aroma. Clear, yellow orange body with a quick foamy white head. Lemon citrus hops continues in the flavour. Medium body. Mellowed due to time in the fridge but still enjoyable -- would like to re-rate with a fresher sample.

Bottle: You can definitely smell the "gumball" in the aroma as well as grapefruit. Pours a hazy orangish-gold with a big white head with good retention. Flavor is actually a little weak. Not much in the initial flavor and than a slight hop grapefruit taste balanced with a little citrus and sweetness in the finish. Not bad, but the flavor is a little on the weak side.

The aroma is very hoppy. Lemony. So this is what amarillo hops smell like. Banana and bubblegum. The flavor is wheaty, gum arabic, lemon, mandarin orange, grassy/floral hops. I love the flavor of this. It’s like a whole new style of beer that I’ve never had before. Appearance is kinda typical but not unappealing. This is a really appealing beer in terms of aroma and flavor. The palate is very refreshing, carbonated, and has a medium mouthfeel. I like this a bunch! HOP HEADS UNITE! The more I have this (I have a 6 pack of bombers in my fridge), the more I like this. This is simply put, one of my favorite beers.

From bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Honey, flowery, bit of sulfur, fruity rinds, and nicely hopped. Almost smells like a mead with some lavender and peach. Hazy light amber with a bit of chunky floaters, light off-white head. Medium-light watery body with medium carbonation. Starts rather mild, with a lot of fruitiness. Peach, light flowery hoppiness, fruity sweetness. Very nice mild wheat ale with good bitter finish, mild chalkiness. Light bitter after. Tasty, but perhaps a bit old - hope to try again a bit fresher.

Doesn’t smell like a wheat but I’m okay with that-almost hoppy in the aroma. The taste is nothing like a wheat beer either, so it seems that it shouldn’t really be allowed in this category. The taste is hoppy and grassy, but has a tainted aftertaste that really brings it down late.

Light nose, clear orange color, no head. Orange and apricot tastes, hoppy end. Medium body, creamy feel. Not too thrilled about this one.

Great citrus aroma just like standing next to a citrus tree and taking a good whiff. Light amber color body with a decent head that left some lacing to it. Flavor had a hoppy citrus aroma and a nice taste of lemons on the palate the was acidic. Good brew and again I had to drink the bommer by myself because the others didn’t want to try something new or just like that common swill. I shouldn’t complain and I don’t.

Bright orange/clear coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of pure american/citrus hops with little else-very pungent though! Light-bodied; Mild wheat/coriander seed flavours with citrus & hop freshness. Very light flavoured though-a bit dissapointing! Aftertaste bland and somewhat hoppy, not too powerful. Overall, a decent summer wheat, but I was expecting more from this, though! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 31-July-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
