| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2004 Bright orange/clear coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of pure american/citrus hops with little else-very pungent though! Light-bodied; Mild wheat/coriander seed flavours with citrus & hop freshness. Very light flavoured though-a bit dissapointing! Aftertaste bland and somewhat hoppy, not too powerful. Overall, a decent summer wheat, but I was expecting more from this, though! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 31-July-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Absolutely luscious aroma of sweet fruit and grapefruity hops. Crisp, refreshing body. Hop flavour is big, but not overpowering. Flavours of lemon, grapefruit & pine. Really nice stuff! Thanks for jercraigs for sharing. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2005 Pours slightly hazy golden but amazingly clear for a bottle conditioned wheat brew. Nice 1/2 inch head on top rocky and white. Aroma is the most pleasant grapefruit aroma I’ve taken off the top of a beer. I could smell this one for a while if I weren’t so thirsty. Flavor starts off kind of sweet, with a touch of honey and you can taste that gumball flavor that I guess it gets it’s name from and wheaty. On the palate it is sort of boring a little thin and watery on the palate but a fantastic brew in aroma and flavor. This would be a great summertime beer were it not for the cost. Still I’m glad I got to try it! Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Big grapefruit hops aroma, thinnish mouthfeel, starts and ends bitter. No real wheat character and basically an American IPA. kramer (2484), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2005 22 ox bottle. Poured a mostly clear gold under a fluffy white head. Nice citrus hop aroma, some grassy character. Very clean and Pale Ale like with the grapefruit notes. Earthy wheat base with a crisp hop finish. Very soft on the palate, no sharp edges with this beer. I really like this, certainly not your average American Wheat! More of a wheat based Pale Ale. Finally an American Wheat to get excited about. kmweaver (2482), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of sprinkle. Thanks, Mike! Pours a cloudy, yellowish brown color; enormous, off-white head with fizzy retention. Refreshing amounts of zesty citrus hops and fresh wheat and grassy notes in the aroma; oranges and lemon peel; quite nice nose. Medium mouthfeel: husky wheat and cereal and fresh citrus (lemon and orange) hops upfront; carbonation is a bit spritzy; this tastes more like a very drinkable hybrid IPA/Belgian than any sort of wheat ale I can think of, although the wheatiness is certainly present; nice zing of citrus on the edges of the tongue; well-balanced. Medium, husky wheat and dry citrus finish; very mouthdrying. FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2003 Updated: Jun 5, 2004Pours a clear deep gold color, and it is topped by a tan head. A wonderful aroma of candied fruit rises up from my glass, the aroma definitely lives up to its name. I smell notes of apricot, lemon, and grapefruit. The taste is light bodied, and slightly sweet, and thick with pungent hop flavors. A clean crisp beer hides under the domination hop flavors of apricot and lemon. this beer is not overly bitter, like perhaps the hop flavor and aroma my suggest, it has a medium level of bitterness in the finish. I definitely know of no gumball that is quite so exquisite as this elixir. This is a damn good Summer offering, certainly not a traditional wheat beer, but the wheat lightens this beer up and makes it a great summer refresher. This is a straight forward, one-dimensional attack of Amarillo hops, if you like them then this is the beer for you.
