Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

Bottle from Eithcubes. Pours a fairly clear orange with a thin head. The aroma is mostly a rich hops and citrus, also some grains. The taste is dominated by a citrusy hops, quite fresh and full, also full of wheat dipped in honey. Pretty nice. Very clean and easygoing. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.

12oz bottle from Nora’s Fine Wines (Indianapolis). Pours a golden caramel with a thick, frothy white head. Aroma: sweet and citrusy with a nose of apricot and peaches. Flavor: Sweet and spicey with ripe peach and apricot overtones. Grapefruit bitterness on finish. Excellent and refreshing wheat ale.

Bottle. Pours an deep golden body with huge head, in fact it took me forever to empty out the contents of the bottle. Aroma was very pleasant, very floral smell. Flavor was nice, very hoppy for the style, heavy bitterness. While this is a good beer, it’s not one I would grab again. It seems to have an ever changing taste and feel to it. It’s feels like it is a step or two away from being great.

Bottle courtesy of cmr1517. Pours a hazy yellow with a one finger white head that leaves nice lacing. The nose is malt, wheat and citrus. The taste is malt and ripe citrus. Medium mouthfeel. Good brew, a nice hoppy wheat! Thanks Chris!

22oz bomber-A nice golden body with a nice two finger white head and an aroma of hops, wheat, and some citrus. Taste of the same with the wheat coming out a little bit more. A nice tasting brew.

From a 22oz. bomber bottle with the distinctive Three Floyds label with a map to the brewery on the lower right side of label, summer 2006 version. Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy golden hued orange with a foamy white that settled into a thin, bubbly lacing, moderate carbonation overall. Had a amarillo hops nose, citric grapefruity and orangey with just a light wheat maltiness at the edges. A crisp, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Big hop taste upfront, grapefruity, zesty and a delicious orangey, sharp, but rolling bitterness on the tongue, a crisp sweet wheat malty backbone with the distinctive Three Floyds yeastiness and a crisp and bitter citric fruity and malty finish. The perversion of the pale wheat ale that you expect from Three Floyds, original, tasty and quite quaffable.

Pours light golden with a thin foamy white head. Aroma of metallic, grassy hops and mushrooms. Taste is soapy and surprisingly hoppy. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly sticky with soft carbonation. Older bottle from 2005. Does not keep well. Disappointing. Will retry at the brewpub.

A wheat beer huh? ok, but flavor isn’t a wheat to me, but thats ok, this beer is full of hops, and has alot of citrus flavor, smooth on the palate, great beer on a hot Cali day like today! Thanks Duane!
