Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

This is an amazingly refreshing summer beer. Wheat bread, grain, lemon zest, bubblegum sweetness, and tropical fruit (mango and papaya). Very easy to drink and tasty, but not all that complex.

Clear and golden with a long lasting, off white head. Has that quality ale look, where bubbles move at a moderate pace to the surface, where they support a leisurely, long lasting head. Grassy, lemon, froot loop aroma. Sweet and resinous with a smooth palate and generous body. Big hop flavor and nice lacing. American Wheat IPA?

Bottle thanks to Bman1113VR who was my secret santa this summer. Pours a just hazy browned apricot color with a medium to large bone white head. Nice hoppy citrus and mango notes, deceptive at first since I didn’t bother to read anything on the bottle to know that this was hopped so heavily, and my first reaction was that they’d gotten a label wrong. Really nice hop presence with some faint wheat behind it. Good mouthfeel, lemony and with some gentle wheat. Really tasty. Finishes on the dry side with a little subtle grapefruit bitterness. I’m impressed. Not at all what I was expecting, but still really nice.

(bottle) Hazy gold with generous white head. Hops aroma with hints of sweetness. Flavor is an odd mix of some sweetness, banana and clove with the citrus hops.

Clean soft gold, hardly any head. Clean juicy hops, wet with pineapple and mango. So clean the hops jump right out and fade out quickly. I don’t see much in the way of wheat, yet this is more along what I would brew for a wheat ale.

Dark golden, slightly hazy with some little yeast floaties. Massive light brown head. Big hop aroma is slightly sweet with a candyish, toffee quality. The dry wheat flavor takes a back seat to the slightly agressive hop character, giving a nice balance to the citric stickiness. Tingly, slightly carbonated mouthfeel. Wheat comes out in all its glory in the finish. A unique take on the style, and one that I really enjoyed. IWA (Imperial Wheat Ale) anyone?

Bottle shared @ the HotD dock sale [thanks guyinchicago for the trade!]... Poured hay golden with a white head. Hops and wheat on the nose. Floral hops and spiced. Light refreshing, earthy and fruits. Lemon-citrus and creamy finish.

I don’t have much to say about this beer: it is very refreshing, crisp, with grapefruit and other citrus flavors in both the flavor and in the aroma. Nice! Good balance, nice carbonation, nice looking.
