| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of citrus/floral hops, grain, and spice. Palate is smooth. Flavor is of grain and hops, lemony finish. Pretty good for a wheat beer, but almost tastes like a pale ale. guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2004 Straw and lemon grass initially in the aroma, soon to compete with a citrusy, hoppy nose. Had only a slight wheat haze in the golden yellow appearance (I guess "red wheat" has no effect on the color). Moderately bitter, medium-bodied flavor, with a pronounced hop presence. Forget any comparison to a German weisen. Dry, spicy finish. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2006 From 22oz Bottle. Hazy, golden body with a light naval orange skin hue, topped with a fizzy, quickly dissipating head of banana creme. Hoppy aroma of lemon zest, sweet orange pulp, and granny smith apple skins. Some more mundane notes of under-ripe strawberry add a subtly floral-fruity underlayer. Slightly syrupy, medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Like the head, the carbonation fades quickly on the palate, leaving behind a watery, wheaty residue. Unfortunately, this is the only stylistic hint I get from this beer. I’m left searching aimlessly for a glimpse of pheonlic yeast or hearty wheat character. Instead, I’m finding more of a pale ale thats complimented by a strange, creamy malt backing. The hops are definitely too overpowering for me, as the west coast character even clashes a bit with the wheat bill on my palate. In addition, the body is a bit on the heavy side to be considered refreshing. Interesting concept for a brew and the skillful craftsmanship shines through, but this one’s not for me. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2008 This one came in from Eithcubes. The lesson to be learned from this beer is that amarillo hops = bubblegum flavors/aromas. Getting more of an IPA than a wheat experience but I am not complaining. Clear golden orange color. Wheat style comes through faintly on the finish. A little banana and grain flavors there. Straight amarillo is a little one dimensional. A good dimension but still one dimension. drfabulous (1274), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Like no wheat I’ve had. Lacking all those traditional flavors. Refreshing is a good adjective. It is light. Like a straight up ale. I like how 3F messes with the concept of a wheat here. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 10, 2006 Hints of banana, lemon zest abd wheat do not go well with piney grapefruity hops. The basis is nice, do away with the hops and I may consider drinking it again. wunderbier (1271), Tampere, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2004 Quite tasty for an American wheat. I wonder if they used the same yeasts as in some of their pale ales. Malt profile is very laid back, but the amarillo hops really have some kick. Decent body too. The bottom line is: like a said, quite tasty for an American wheat. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2003 Huge apricot, passionfruit hop aroma. Amarillo all the way. Straightforwardish wheat beer, that shows some wheat stickiness on the tongue. Nice summer quencher.
