Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

friend had a bomber over winter break, but i’ve had this a few times. probably my favorite wheat beer (though not a very characteristic wheat beer). very fruity, very hoppy; very tasty. definitely banana/bubblegum here.

Bottle from Capones, gift from Stegosaurus and sampled with Dennis Bell. Slightly hazed golden pour with thick head. Aroma of mild hop and fruit. Lemon taste sweet as well with mild hop. It was just ok for me. Not the typical wheat beers I am used too.

great summer beer. pours a clear yellow iwth a big white foamy head.. leaves some spotty lace on the glass. aroma is floral hops, pine, orangepeel . Nice mix between a wheat beer and a ipa. Flavor is much the same with some wheat and bread notes. the girlfriend loves it. There are few beers that are more refreshing than a fresh bottle of this.

Bottle: Thanks to Indiana_Red for sharing this highly acclaimed wheat beer from a premiere microbrewery. It is not what I expected for an American Wheat, but still enjoyable. It was much hoppier than I expected beginning with the aromas. Ahhh, the juniper shrub aromas that so often characterize hops. And it actually tasted like it was brewed with junipers as well more than wheat. It has a real smooth feel and a great aftertaste. I liked it even though it wasn’t what I expected.

bottle poured a golden color with a thin white head and good carbonation. aroma has juicy citrus hops, pine, sweetness, and a faint bit of wheat. sorta like a stick of juicy fruit. mouth feel is light with crisp carbonation. flavor highlights the sweet citrus and pine hops. there is a wheat beer under there but the hops just take this to another level. super drinkable but so juiced full of flavor.

Why has no one thought of this before? An easy-drinking light beer totally over-loaded with hop flavor and aroma. I have a tough time thinking of what would make a better summer beer. I have always liked super-charged IPA and Pils in the heat, but the bitterness dries me out too much. This beer is just hop flavor aroma without that big drying quality (though there is plenty of bitterness). And the malt is light , which makes it even better in hot weather. Superb.

Thanks to Axilla for the bottle. Pours a hazy straw color, thin head with little to no linger. Aroma is earthy sweet Amarillo hops with a burst of lemon. Sweet nose, sweetness is then joined by an earthen rye-like flavor. Hops then become more assertive, carrying the sweet slightly lemony motif. The finish is pretty dry for such a sweet beer, with residual hop bitterness capping it off. Very unusual for a wheat, tastes more like a highly hopped bitter or rye ale.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a big, foamy, white head. Aroma is citrus and flowers. Smooth malty taste with a grapefruit and piney hop finish. Definately the hoppiest wheat I’ve had. Quite enjoyable.
