This has a funny drawing on the label of a comic book character. Interesting pour - dark gold, with an almost rosy hue. It has a surprisingly hoppy aroma for a wheat brew, with lots of sweet floral scent. It tastes really good too - as much like a fine pale ale as a wheat, with a crisp, grapefruit nip to it. There is also a touch of strawberry or some other kind of fruit. Fairly light bodied, but still full flavored. This belongs with Alpha King as the best moderately priced, everyday beers in America. Gumballhead is another unique and amazing creation from Three Floyds. phaleslu (577), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Pours a clear but slightly hazy gold with a bit of reddish orange tint and a medium white head. Pleasant, light aroma of citrus, hops, melon, and wheat. Flavor is more of the same, and the hops really pop on the palate. Smooth, sweet, perfectly balanced with a light-medium mouthfeel that I enjoy so much I find myself drinking it too fast so I can keep repeating the experience. I absolutely love this beer and can’t imagine anyone disliking it. Three Floyds hits yet another home run. illidurit (898), Santa Cruz, California, USA

Floral hops tickle the nose, along with pleasantly sweet grain aromas.
Very interesting take on a wheat beer here; floral and piney hops dance with banana phenols and vanilla notes atop a stage built from sweet malt and wheat smoothness. Grapefruit, lemon zest, a little spice and everything is indeed nice. What complexity!
Perfect mouthfeel. Exemplary carbonation, extremely smooth, with a nice drying finish from all those Amarillo hops.
Low alcohol, incredible smoothness, refreshing qualities, and balanced flavors make this beer supremely drinkable. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy light yellow color with a frothy white head that condenses but refreshes itself throughout the entire drinking process. Laces the glass slightly. Smells nice and hoppy but mellow hoppy not bitter or aggressive. A little grassy but not overwhelming. Tastes of a well balanced but liberal dose of hops. Great beer to start on if your just getting into hops. Palate is a bit on the thick side for such a light colored brew. Insane carbonation at first but the carbonation fades at about half glass.
Pretty awesome beer, I really dig it and will do my best to get more. Coltrane (108), South Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 20, 2009 The absolutely most perfectest summer beer. Tremendous hop flavor and bitterness to go with a smooth wheat mouthfeel. Quite a bit of citrus fruitiness from the hops. Cuts through perfectly after a big stout or DIPA. noncaloric (630), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Slightly hazy gold, only a scant white head, but it nonetheless manages a decent lacing. Strong, floral-sweet hops aroma, a bit of peppermint to it. Flavor similarly dominated by the floral hops presence, partially offset by a cellary yeast must, some whole-grain huskiness on the finish. Medium body, zesty with a thickness in the finish. Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA

Mouthfeel was decent; maybe a little on the light side, which I expected. Wafty hop aromas throughout. Really nice notes of grass, pine and green hops. Malts were lightish, wheaty and bready. Very enjoyable beer, style guidelines aside. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 6, 2004 Wow!!! This is wheat beer? Aroma is very hoppy, delightfully so, but rather different for the style. Beer pours dark golden with a not real big off white head that is retained and has nice lacing. There is a lot happening in the flavor department with this one. Initial flavor is purely hoppy, but then the beer broadens and you notice the wheat flavor. There is also a nice dry spicy finish. Not very style specific, but excellent beer nonetheless.
