Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

This was unusual. I did taste and smell things described on here like the leathery grassy taste that I used to think was peoples imaginations. It did have a very refreshing grapefruit taste and some unique smells and flavors. I liked it but did not love it. I would drink it again though as a nice alternative to the norm. I don’t think I could have it all the time though.

Great Beer! Just, slightly, hazy. Pillowy, head. Aroma is evident upon opening the bottle. Tons of hops(juicy, fruity),with yeastiness being noticeable,as well. A store in town still has 2 cases of last years left. If I wouldn’t have had one of those in the past few weeks, and just tasted the base,so to speak,I wouldn’t have noticed in this aroma. It stinks of hops! Super, creamy, mouth. Mainly wheat, slight yeast, flavors secondary to the huge hop flavor. Finish is wet,and hoppy. We just finished a keg of this at my buddies house. His kegs usually last about 6 weeks, this one only 2-3! Great summer beer!

A beer I still return to occasionally. Always a pleasure. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. Has a nice small head that tops an orange and yellow body. The aroma is grass and orange peels with some pineapple. Lots of hops for a wheat beer. Gotta love the ingenuity of US brewers. This bursts on the tongue with lots of orange flavor. Tastes like biting an orange. Very light on the tongue. Similar to drinking orange flavor soda water. There is also a little tropical note of pineapple. I get a little bit of almonds. Absolutely delicious and a perfect summer beer.

Found this one bottled at Top Shelf in South Elgin, Illinois. Hazy medium yellow pour and a thick white head. Very unusual wheat ale. An awesome hoppy and citrusy nose tops a very flavorful and complicated taste. Citrusy hops quickly moves into a citrusy maltiness, banana and orange. Very, very good beer.

Slightly hazy golden-orange colour. Absolutely luscious aroma of sweet fruit and grapefruity hops. Crisp, refreshing body. Hop flavour is big, but not overpowering. Flavours of lemon, grapefruit & pine. Really nice stuff! Thanks for jercraigs for sharing.

Its been some time since I’ve had this so I’m going on memory. I recall it being surprisingly good. A hoppy wheat beer which is in itself a rarity although this was also well done. The perfect copmpliment to a hot summer day although drinkable year round. Quite lemony in a good way complimented with a balanced bitterness. Highly recommend it.

Pours a cloudy light orange with a thin white head that diminishes to almost nothing. Aroma is citrus and floral hops. This is the hoppiest wheat beer I’ve ever had. Thin mouthfeel and very little carbonation. If more wheat beers tasted like this, I would like them more.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Dark yellow, decent sized white head. Tons of orange citrus, sugar, malt, and spice – wow, there are a lot of hops in here. Medium mouthfeel. Stunningly hoppy wheat taste, still lots of citrus (but not as much as aroma suggests) and a very peppery / bitter finish. Very refreshing, and at this alcohol, probably the most accessible (for hop heads anyway) 3 Floyds yet. Really good.
