Commercial Description:
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at <a href=http://www.skingraftrecords.com>SkingraftRecords.com. Cheers!

22 oz. bomber served in a Pilsner glass 2006 release Pours a surprising clear yellow-orange. I thought there would be cloudiness to it but there was none. Nice 1 inch white head that lasted a while and left great lacing. Slightly more carbonation than your average beer. Good pop on the nose. Great grassy aromas with a touch of citrus. Flavor was outstanding. Probably the best example of the style, at least that I’ve had. Grass and citrus with a yeasty, hoppy finish. AMAZING. Not heavy on the pallet making this very easy to drink. This is a great beer for the warmer season coming up.

Review from 2006. Pours a very nice golden color with a nice pillowy head that leaves a wonderful lacing on the glass, clearer than most wheat style beers. Smell is hoppy, opens with a floral bouquet and finishes with citrus smells (orange, lemon) and even has some pine in there as well. Taste is glorious, I swear I tasted some banana and bubblegum before the hops takeover mid-drink and hit you with a refreshing citrus burst. Light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation, it really could not be improved on for the style. Drinkability, umm, yeah I could have this wherever, whenever and plenty of it. Additional information: My bottle was refridgerated since its summer release, and is still this good now, that’s just crazy, I was afraid to buy it at first because of how long it was sitting there, but I’m so glad I did.

The aroma is very hoppy. Lemony. So this is what amarillo hops smell like. Banana and bubblegum. The flavor is wheaty, gum arabic, lemon, mandarin orange, grassy/floral hops. I love the flavor of this. It’s like a whole new style of beer that I’ve never had before. Appearance is kinda typical but not unappealing. This is a really appealing beer in terms of aroma and flavor. The palate is very refreshing, carbonated, and has a medium mouthfeel. I like this a bunch! HOP HEADS UNITE! The more I have this (I have a 6 pack of bombers in my fridge), the more I like this. This is simply put, one of my favorite beers.

A healthy aroma of wheat, hops, and grapefruit. The color is a deep gold and produces a thick head. This beer sparks the palate the minute it hits the tongue and is not afraid to linger after it has been swallowed. It has a rich wheaty-hoppy taste infused with hints of grapefruit and lemon. It is smooth but does manage to make the tongue tingle ever-so-slightly.

The golden color and light hoppy finish make this a good appetizer beer, especially on a hot day.

As I would expect of three f’s they push the definition of style here in highly creative ways. The amarillo hops make this an IPA lovers wheat. No need to compromise on your summer beer- you get the wheat, lemon and light body with a juicy hop blast. Some spicyness on the tongue and banana in the nose make the finish on this one memorable. No lawn mowers here.

Much more fruit flavor than I expected... a very wonderful surprise. Warming and quite nice. Not a wheat beer for any addative like a lemon or an orange. It stands quite well on it’s own. I will add this to my regulars.
