Attractive citrus aroma, smooth refreshing palate. Mild citrus flavor. This didn’t have that off-putting wheat character that I can’t stand. This was delicious and very easy drinking. Easily my favorite wheat. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA

offerings from these master brewers never fail to hit the spot. Gumballhead is no
exception. Just writing this rating is making me thirsty. Nose of grapefruit & lime, I
really couldn’t smell the wheat - just primarily citrus. Pours a hazy clover honey. The
large white rocky & sticky head is very stiff, fully lasting and leaves behind great lace.
The flavor is both very pleasant & very refreshing. Finally I taste a wheat offering with
some balls. Good balance & depth, moderate acidity; the finish is mostly lemon citrus
zing. The light body is soft and dry. These guys at 3 Floyds just don’t fuck around! They
are so ahead of the curve. piwodevo (53), chicago, Illinois, USA

This incarnation is stripped clean, filtered a bright High Life straw color with a thin white head that still manages to lace the glass. The aroma is classic 3F. Amarillo! Malt is barely discernable in the aroma, slightly more so in the flavor. The hops carry this beer. If you’re not a hop fan, steer clear, because that’s what this beer is all about. Light weight, fragrant finish that is quite short. Banana, pine, peach and melon all dance in the mouth. Wow!! Maddog (248), Kettering, Ohio, USA

This American style wheat is one fantastic brew. Since I’ve started homebrewing, Amarillo hops have become my favorite. I love those citrus aromas and what a blast of hop flavor. This is one of my all time favorite wheat beers. meathookjones (245), Sterling, Virginia, USA

Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a rocky white head. Left a fantastic lacing on the glass as it was drank. Aroma is hoppy with citrus grapefruit notes as well as mild malts. Flavor is definatly wheat heavy with a nice hoppy kick to it with a bit of lemon detected. Very smooth and easy drinking especially for a wheatbeer. This has a great mouthfeel. I will definatly be picking some more of this up and doing some research to see what "Gumballhead" did to have such a great beer named after him. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

I’ve had this year’s on tap at the brewery and from the bottle, and it’s definitely hoppier and thusly, tastier to this hop-head than it used to be. Ergo, I’m upping my rating from 5/4/6/4/13 to 7/4/8/4/17. So there!
9/8/2004A nice wheat, but I was concerned when I witnessed a lager-only buddy slamming these down from the tap at the Maple Tree. Then again, maybe he’s growing. It’s got a nice amber color and a full off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with an underlying grassiness. Good taste with a nice dosage of spicy hops. Refreshing.

Has that quality ale look, where bubbles move at a moderate pace to the surface, where they support a leisurely, long lasting head. Grassy, lemon, froot loop aroma. Sweet and resinous with a smooth palate and generous body. Big hop flavor and nice lacing. American Wheat IPA?
