On tap at Three Floyds Brew Pub. Hazy orange with a white lacing head. Refreshing aroma of citrus hops and Belgian yeast. Taste of balanced hops with a touch of candy sugar, fruit, and spice. Light on the palate with a bitter finish. A nice beer, and different for the style.

On tap at the brewery. Poured a hazed orange yellow with a white head. Nose with tons of Belgian yeast, dough, spice, sugar, and citrus. Similar flavors that showcase the Belgian yeast, sugars, and spice. The citrus and doughy malts back those dominate notes up with some hints of floral hops. Super sweet and tough to drink. This is badly in need of more hops to balance out all of that sweetness. I thought I had tried this before and enjoyed, but I remember the hops being more dominate. This is tough to finish. In fact, I couldn’t.

Tulip poured on draft at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Pours a nice dark amber, some orangish notes, dull, good haze, and big offwhite head that sticks around, laces well. Aromas are pushing some nice fruity esters, belgian yeast and spice, light apple must, and some nice sweet malt. Initial is a little light in the body, Belgian malts and spices, fruity esters of apple and pear, with some mellow sweetness. Finish with a sweetness and moving to a decent bitterness. Inviting, pleasant. This is a decent Belgian, maybe a little mediocre, a little underbodied and flavored, but sessionable at it’s ABV. Cheers.

Draft at the brewpub. My girlfriend ordered it, took a few sips, then gave it to me. See kids, this is why you need a girlfriend. Orange amber pour with foamy head. Yeasty aroma of apples, candy sugar. Flavor is fruity, spicey, low hoppiness. Pretty good american take on a belgian pale.

Draught at the brewpub. Orangey amber with a moderate foamy off-white head, nice lacing. Yeasty aroma with a faint hop finish. Rich malty clovey flavor. Finishes dry and mildly bitter. Fairly creamy medium bodied.

Draft into a tulip glass at the brewpub. orange brown color. Massive head which fades out after a minute, leaving the glass 1/5 empty. Sweet subdued aroma. Herby, sugary, yeasty tastes. Smooth, mellow carbonation. The yeast dominates a little too much in my opinion, lacks subtlety. Sugary, somewhat typical of US-Belgian beers.
