drewbeerme (1711), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 22oz bottle. recently released. pours a glowing clear red with creamy white head. a hoppy nose, grapefruit and pine hop notes, hints of herbal and mint as well, and a big sweet wheat and caramel malt notes coming through. flavors are big and sweet, lots of hop flavors of grapefruit and citrus, a wheat caramel malt back bone too. a lasting green finish is actually quite clean and dry. this is well executed. big FFF hopped up brew with a clean smooth wheat wine finish. the first west coast wheat wine!
uhre (185), Denmark Jul 17, 2008 The beer is copper with a beige head which disapears very fast. The aroma is malt at first but also hoppy and you can also smell some alcohol. The flavor is hoppy, but in a strange way I felt it had a bit of fish flavor in it?? Also citrus? mjs (422), Finland Jul 17, 2008 (Bottle at Pikkulintu on 2008-07-16) Amber. Cloudy. Large and bit tan head. Hops, pine and alcohol in nose. Full, alcoholic and dry palate. Pine, hops, alchohol and malts in taste. Lighltly salty liquorice. With good imagination some banana aromas could perhaps be found, too. At the beginning, the hops felt quite harsh but the taste developed into quite soft and balanced one. Doggythedog (911), Split, Croatia Jul 13, 2008 Bottle at the RBESG08 Poured a lovely red/amber colour. Soft, pungent aroma hops in the nose. Lovely, pungent flowery, sweet maltiness with nice aroma hops. A great beer as could be expected from this collaboration. jsquire (1848), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2008 Jewel like amber colored beer with a yellowish beige head. High alcohol content in the nose with piney hops and a candi sugar sweetness. Flavors of puffed wheat, apricot jam, sharp piney hops and lots of hairspray alcohol. There is a long, pinching bitterness in the finish. The beer was really hot. Big all the way around. Thanks to bdigi66 for sharing. cgarvieuk (2149), Edinburgh, Scotland Jul 11, 2008 Bottle at RBESG08 ...
