Bottle 66 cl. Large creamy thick beige head that really lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Somewhat cloudy amber color with a golden glow. Explosive and lovely sweet hoppy sniff with notes of peach, apricot, flowers. Also lots of overripe fruity, prunes and what appears as oak barreled notes. Over palate came toffee, wheat and mild toasted malty and bread like feel. Very full bodied with a lively carbonation and dry, mild alcoholic and surprisingly smooth texture for an American style Barley Wine. Very well balanced flavor between the heavy bitter and sweet. Lingering hoppy bitter and overripe fruity sweet finish. Excellent combined work of Mikkeller and Three Floyds…..More of that PLEASE!

Sampled at the RBESG08 grand tasting. Clear amber with medium beige head. Fruity malt aroma with dark berries, spicy hops. Medium to thick body, smooth mouthfeel. Nice long bitterness.

Bottle and served in my NB worthy glass: Bronze hue with a lovely thick creamy off-white head which left very nice lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of resiny hops, grapefruit and mango esters, caramel and cookie dough, wheat husks, and grains of paradise vapours. The taste starts with a lush malt layer over which a hop field was laid. Add some pungent hop spice and alcohol to the mix before wrapping it up with a honey and earthy finish. There is a acidic fruit component throughout as well. The mouth feel is aggressive and crisp, with a light warming trend and a bit medicinal. A powerful beer which mets my expections fully. Whatever it is it is good stuff!

Bottle, thanks to alexanderj. Deep amber with white yellow-tinged head. Aroma is nice citrus, tropical fruit hops. Flavor is biscuity malt, citrus hops, med-high bitterness, and hop oils linger in the finish. Enjoyable.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Unclear. Off white dense head. Plums, alcohol, sweetness, yeast, caramel and flowers in the aroma. Flavour has caramel, yeast, honey, light spices, berries, alcohol and a light piney and flowery touch. Medium to full bodied. Light dry. Has gooseberries, loads of alcohol and a grapy touch in the end. Quite nice. Alcohol very warming especially on the lips.

100th Rater. Tasted 6/22/08. 22oz bomber. Hazy with a ruby brown hue. Moldy white head. Honey and fruity aromas with hints of cookies and estery berries. Full bodied with big malts. Nice rye bitterness. Good effervescence and high gravity. Bright sticky finish that rolls into a lingering piney hop flavor. Caramel and toasty. Sticky honey. Mild cocoa and spice flavor. Flavorful. I just wonder what this will become?
