Dark brown color with a moderate head of tiny tan bubbles. Malt, grain, molasses, and a touch of coffee and dark chocolate in the aromas. Smooth lightly oily feel. Seems light in flavors. As sweet mocha and a touch of roasted malt splash around. Hints of lactose and bits of blackberry. This seems to be growing on me as the linger is slightly fruity with just a touch of roasted malt and dark cocoa.

<br /><b>1/07/2009</b>: Three Floyds Moloko Milk Stout has a very dark brown appearance (ruby highlights) with a tan-colored head. The aroma is very smooth and silky with suggestions of chocolate and Backwoods Cigars. The flavor is roasty with some milk chocolate, tobacco, vanilla/cream and NO LACTOSE sourness. This beer has a medium-light body and is very silky smooth. This is probably one of the best milk stouts that I have encountered. I highly recommend it. <br /><br /> <i>1 pint 6 Fl. Bomber ready "Moloko Milk Stout," i.e. nothing about "plus." Black almost oil pour with a tan khaki head that fades to a small ring without lacing. Smells like a chocolate milkshake, a lot like Rogue chocolate stout, with some oats. The flavor is the same, but so remarkably flavorful and balanced and unoffensive and soft. Silky velvetty soft on the palate with minimal carbonation. Overall: yet another FFF masterpiece. So good and drinkable and balanced.

This is a first for me; this is really the first Three Floyd’s beer that I would characterize as disappointing. Mouthfeel was troubling...it seemed almost greasy or oily in my mouth, and the flavor seemed a dichotomy...like a mix of too-sweet sweetness and some nice milky creamy flavor. It poured black with not very much off-white head. Aroma was intensely roasty and definitely predicted the sweetness that I described above in the flavor. Mouthfeel was a bit strange. OK...I found this beer interesting, but compared to my first experiences with Gumallhead, Alpha King, and Dreadnought, which were downright eurphoric...well let’s just say it wasn’t the same. I bought this 22oz bottle at Big Red Liquor in Bloomington, IN.

650 ml, thanks General Gao. Opaque with a small but lasting ring of bubbles. Chocolate, espresso and cream fragrances. Tastes of coffee sweetened with chocolate and tingly lactose. Roasty semi-sweet finish brings on some dark chocolate and light char. Medium-heavy body is watery, a tad too fizzy, and barely dried by the roast. This one is good, but has a bit much lactose.
