AmEricanbrew (1008), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Oct 5, 2008 Black with a brown head. Aroma is rich milk chocolate with roasty malts and tobacco juice. Medium body. Decent flavor is a little thin with chocolate truffels and some blackened malt bitterness to finish. Flavor was a bit of a letdown after the great aroma. pope_phred (117), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Oct 5, 2008 Poured from a 650 ml bottle. Pour was thick, and had an impenetrable black void of a body, topped by a rich head of light brown foam. Aroma is heady, sweet and has notes of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is sweet and body is light (not wholly surprising) Palate is rich with notes of chocolate, mocha, with a slight alcohol burn. Another nice offering from 3Fs. Sparky27 (583), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bomber courtesy of Bobby91w. Pours a motor oil black with one finger tan head that receded quickly. Nose is chocolate milk, vanilla, hints of coffee and roasted malt. Taste is pretty much the same. Thinner mouth feel than I expected. Decent brew. Thanks Bobby! FastEddie (156), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 4, 2008 Nice toasty molasses aroma. Pitch black, motor oil like look with a gorgeous, large dark brown head. Looks beautiful in a glass. Flavor is sweet yet balanced, and actually less strong than what I was anticipating from the look of the beer. The body is a bit lighter as well. To me, the beer seems a bit deceiving in that it looks like it’s going to be thicker and darker than it actually tastes and feels. msante79 (268), Illinois, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours black with rich dark tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and milk chocolate. Flavor mostly roasted malts with tons of chocolate. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. A delicious stout that I could drink all night. They should put this stuff in 6 packs.
