| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 17, 2003 I was sort of confused as to why 3 Floyds would make a style that calls for very little hops. They seem to revel in the plant. Pours a nice rich brown, with a pleasing khaki head. Aroma is way too hoppy. You can smell the hops, for starters. Malts smell right, but are overwhelmed by the floral hoppiness. Flavor is also off. Way, way too much hops. Mild roastiness and some bittersweet bready flavors. It irritates me that these guys just overhop everything, like it's a source of pride. Carbonation is way too high, hops are mellow for 3 Floyds, but still way too high for this style. They should have called it an american brown ale, because that's what it is.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2009 12 oz. bottle from City Wide in South Bend, thanks to shawnm213 for picking this one up. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a one-finger, off-white head with big bubbles that leaves some uneven lacing. Aroma of pine hops, citrus, caramel, and floral notes- simple and lovely. Flavor of pine hops, sweet citrus, sweet malts, candy sugar, mineral notes, and ginger. Light-medium bodied, active but gentle carbonation, and a nice, fresh mouthfeel. Sweet, floral, easy to drink, and interesting. Great balance, and for an amber ale, this kicks serious ass. Duhast500 (202), , Massachusetts, USA

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
The color is a hazy orange with a finger of white foamy head with some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is very citrus with a nice tart orange flavor. A bit of a nice citrus hop flavor hiding in the background with a slight floral hop flavor.
The taste is has a bit of bitter hop flavor right up front with a citrus flavor that is a mix of orange and tangerine. Is a bit sweet but is short on on it’s sugary flavor is very muted.
This beer drinks quite well and is a very enjoyable beer. It goes down really well and is pretty light on the pallet. A really easy drinking beer.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A - Poured a mild golden amber color lightly hazy with a rather large foamy head. This quickly died down and left behind just a thin lily pad type head across the top of the glass with a decent amount of lace. Nice carbonation visible rising up from the bellows of the glass.
S - Nice light citrus hops were noticeable with a malty backbone to even everything out.
T - Very nice brew. This is a nice light brew. It is not at all watered down. There is also a nice maltyness to it, but like all 3 Floyd’s brews no matter how mild they still bring the hops. There is a dash of cane sugar to sweeten it up a bit.
M - Very smooth and refreshing. Rciesla (3790), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is lemon zest, very citrus hop, some light toffee and caramel malts. Flavor is clean caramel malts with very citrus hops, no suprises here but very well ballanced and virtually no flaws. mild but tasty Apa alexsdad06 (1105), Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold color with a moderate amount of carbonation causing a light ivory crown. The aroma is crisp pine and fruity hops. The flavor is packed full of tangerine and grapefruit. The bitterness is there, but is far from over powering. Medium body and mouthfeel. I could drink this stuff a night long! This is not quite up to the same standard as some of Three Floyd’s other beers as it is lacking that little something extra I’ve come to expect. However, it is still another very good and respectable brew and a solid APA in general.
