Malty, a bit sweet and almost a hint of fruit. Not much of a hoppy taste and quite smooth.

Aug 20, 2008 12oz botle. Pours dark ruby brown with a very small head. Balanced flavor of roasted malts, caramel and chocolate. A fantastic, very drinkable Scottish Ale.

Aug 17, 2008 Pours a deep reddish copper with a minimal off white head. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, toffee. Taste is sweet smoky malt, toffee, milk chocolate. A medium body with light carbonation. A very nice scottish ale.

Aug 16, 2008 After a great trip to FFF I ended up at Charlle’s pub next to my hotel. Pint draft pour came a very rich and deep copper color with a off-white head and not much lacing. Aroma is of flowers and fruit. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is of ripe fruit. I am not quite sure how they put this one together, but it is really good and easy to drink

Aug 15, 2008 Updated: Aug 19, 2008Well made. Does not taste like any other scottish ale i’ve tried. I will not hold that against it. Whatever it is, it’s good. Nice hoppy fruitiness on a very dark and malty brew. The combination works out great. We’re left with a dark yet sweet and hoppy ale. Nothing like my other favorite Scottish ales but still an absolut joy to drink

Aug 8, 2008 A great Scottish ale. A powerful malt taste and a nice smoked nutty flavor. Not too hoppy, but has a good Scottish ale feel. Pretty dark with a great brown coloring.
