On tap at the "U medvidku", Praha: Deep amber coloured, quickly vanishing beige-brownish head; dried fruit, roasted malt in the sweet-caramelly nose; full sweet flavour, full bodied, a bit sirupy; leather and tobacco in the sweet finish, rounded by a shy bitter aftertaste. Absolutely not my cup of tea, but a very interesting cough-syrup....

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber with a small off-white head. Rather sophisticated aroma of burned caramel, overripe fruit and oxidized sherry accents. Quite full-bodied, low in carbonation, burned caramel and overripe fruit. Rather subdued bitterness with a vague underlying tartness. 291108

Bottle, 12.6%. Fruity aroma, berry, almost like a lambik. Cloudy deep red colour. No head. The flavour is quite citric, fruity, berry notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, a little thick.

Bottle @ U Medvidku pub. Dark ruby brown colour, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, some tart, malts. Flavour is very sweet, combined with a distinct sugary sourness and a lot of dark fruits (plums and prunes). Very sharp mouthfeel, high carbonation. Could use some subtility.

From bottle at U Medvídků in Prague. Dark brown with small tan head. Smells very fruity and very woody. The alcohol is there but not as much as you would think. Taste is quite sweet and fruity and the high alcohol is hidden very well. Nice beer on a cold rainy night!

Bottled. Nut brown, minimal head. Caramelly nose with vinous port-like notes and tart lingonberries. Sweetish and woody. Vastly malty with compact mouthfeel. Vinous, fruity and intense with a freshening woody acidity. More reminiscent to an English old ale than any lager in the world.
