On tap at the 3F Brew Pub. Poured a deep mahogany color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of plums, raisins, overall fruity with a very light spiciness. Tastes of raisins, plums, apples, very light chocolate and very light candi sugar. There was a sweetness present, but not overly sweet that I tend to notice in American made tripels. Light alcohol in the finish, but overall well hidden.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark brown and ruby with a light tan head. The aroma was sweet caramel with pears. There was also some cinnamon spice. The taste was dank caramel with toffee. There was also oak and funky chocolate in the finish. There is a very noticeable alcohol burn. Had this from a growler at another tasting. I gave it the same scores. I tasted a little more fruit of pear in it this time around.

On tap at brewpub and served in a snifter: Crimson hue with a small frothy head and little lace, some oily legs. The aroma has notes of current and fig, mild smoke, earthy yeast esters, light cardamom, and some phenolic vapors.

Wow, very different tasting with a fruity fig forefront supported by a malty base. Some chocolate and sugary background. A sharp bite of alcohol before a subdued spiced finish. The mouth feel is lush and oily, medium to full-bodied. Slight bite and moderately warming on the finish.

Interesting to say the least, not normal for sure, I DIG IT!

Poured an amber color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, yeast, nuts, orange peel, and some banana. Taste of caramel, nuts, citrus fruits, earthy yeast, coriander, orange peel and black pepper.

Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin offwhite head. Good and surprising aroma of fruits, spices and chocolate. The body is light with a powdery texture and moderate carbonation. Nicely done.

Huge thanks to Eyedrinkale for bringing a growler of this to the heavyweight open house - not your typical trippel, but this IS FFF we’re talking about here - kind of dark copper/brown - yeasty, typical belgian aroma, with a background of banana, lemon - orange, spices, bready/yeasty notes - combine the best of a trippel with some caramel/toffee qualities and you’ll have an idea of what this beer tastes like - interesting, but not great.

Growler: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma of plum, banana, light raisin, slight yeastiness, and hints of apple. Pours a dark reddish-brown with moderate transparency and a small off-white head. Lots of sweet dark fruits througout. Lots of grape with light plum and raisin. Yeastiness lingers behind all the fruitiness. Hints of chocolate of chocolate in the finish with only the slightest hint of bitterness. As it warms alcohol becomes slightly noticeable.

12oz bottle hand bottle traded by Duane! - Thanks! Pours dark brownish ruby with a short tan head that fades fast but leaves a little lacing. Nice full aroma of yeast, raisins, plums, and other dark fruits blended with caramel malts and some candi sugar. Pleasant smooth flavor of raisin, caramel, some yeast, pears, plums, and even some bannana. Palate is sticky sweet yet smooth and easy to drink. No sign of the alcohol except the warmth at the dry finish. Beautiful tripel and another fine beer from this brewer..
