| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Pours nearly opaque very dark brown with a massive, dense and lacy beige head. Soft chocolate aroma. Light body, full carbonation. Tastes sort of like a ’milk porter’ with soft chocolate and coffee notes. Crisp finish.
I’m finding that Baron probably gets down to a lower final gravity than the vast majority of craft brewers, and as a result they’ve delivered a rather refreshing Porter that will likely be under-appreciated due to the lack of body and sweetness. Bradrcr (781), Renton, Washington, USA

Aroma is all milk chocolate with moderate roast and a sweet creaminess. Appearance is faintly hazy dark reddish-brown with a well maintained off-white head. Flavor is sweet-sour malt forward that quickly dissipates into a toasty bittering finish that lingers at the back of the tongue just long enough to catch the front end of the next sip. Mouthfeel is medium-low bodied with a medium carb feel and a light grainy texture. This is a true porter with the sessionable body and roast that never edges on a stout like so many of its counterparts. robforbes (1105), Bremerton, Washington, USA

smell is of yeast, dark fruit, a little coffee, some grain, and a touch of cocoa.
taste is of wheat, some cocoa, a little weak coffee, some caramel, and a little roastiness, ends on the dry side. fakepurseninja (790), Washington, USA

Aroma of coffee roast, some milky lactic notes a bit of pine hop. Taste is primarily the roast, milkiness is muted in the taste, and a nice bitterness picking up in the finish. Palate very thin for style, though this helped it to be drinkable. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 14, 2009 12-oz. at Uber. Pours a nearly opaque black with a dense and creamy tan head. Nice coffee nose, immediately makes you sit up and take notice. Body’s a little watery, though, with too little carb, and what’s there is a bit too prickly. The whole thing seems to get about a third of the way across your tongue and just walk away whistling; the flavor and body disappear more or less entirely. This one needs a little bit more force put behind it.
