Clear amber with a white head. Mild honey malt aroma with faint piney hops. Medium body. Flavor is lightly sweet grainy pale malt grist with mild pine hop. Crisp clean finish. Draft@ Pillager’s Pub.

10/13/09 On draft at Pillager’s Pub, Seattle, Wa. Aroma has a sweet bready, doughy malt note balanced by a citrusy hop note that grows substantially as the beer warms. Appearance is clear gold with a slight reddish note and a medium maintained off-white head. Flavor is again well balanced between medium bittering and sweet malt, a touch of caramel and an almost noble peppery finish. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with a medium carb texture that puts a spritzy texture on the tongue and almost chilling finish. Overall, a very crisp and clean brew, suprising for a full-flavored ale.

22oz bottle. clear dark golden medium head. perfumey and lightly fruity hops mix with light biscuit malt. Light bitterness. Nicely balanced and pretty enjoyable. Hints of diacetyl in the aroma and taste bring this down.

pours a semi-cloudy orange-yellow with a very small white head, and very good lacing. smell is of malt, a few hops, earth, some perfume, a little orange, and some citrus. taste is crisp, hops, grain, a little caramel, and a touch of sour malt, ends dry and a little bitter.

Bomber. Pours clear dark gold with a thick and lacy white head. Aroma of citrus, peach and resin with just a little toffee to prop it up. Light body, watery texture with minimal carbonation. Some toasty, nutty flavor bits with a a dry and somewhat earthy finish that has a little hint of metal.

This is probably a great choice for the calorie-conscious folk like the little hottie on the label, but I wouldn’t mind seeing bodied up just a bit. Otherwise this beer seems pretty solid.

Very nice looking pour - solid fluffy white head. Toasted bread malt backbone. Some musty vegetative English pale hop notes. Kind of metallic and thin. Grainy bread finish.

12-oz. Pours a nearly opaque dark amber with a nice big fluffy off-white head that falls quickly away to nothing. Leaves no head or lace when it’s gone. Big nutty roasty aroma. Most of the nose seems to come from roast specialty malt, which is fine. Light, watery body, almost flat. Would like to see this a bit creamier and more carbonated, along with greater head retention. Nuts, toast, earth, and dry leaves on the mid-palate. Fairly neutral finish. Shows some promise, but needs head, body, and hops.
