SilkTork (3882), Rochester, Kent, England Oct 17, 2005 Wallington Festival. Full, sweet, smooth, flavoursome, gently and interestingly spiced. A fascinating ale that has a myriad of dark malty flavours to explore. Pleasantly sweet, this moves gradually into mild bitter notes to provide balance and interest and to prevent the beer from being cloying. The malt is clean and lovely, producing a fresh and attractive fruit that excites the palate and the spirit, giving a feeling of joy and well being. Very drinkable. Very inviting. Constantly fascinating and joyful. A wonderful beer. I’ll take this over a bottled Belgian Strong Ale any day.

Fruit cake, Christmas pud, spices, raisins, sherry, vinous winey notes. Aroma and flavour much the same. Rich but not cloying. Scrumptious. Cask (handpump) at the Beer Circus, Croydon (Belgian Christmas Beer Festival).
duff (5405), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Dec 7, 2004 Cask@The Beer Circus, Croydon, London. Tastes like liquid Christmas pudding. Lots of dark fruits, spices, nuts and dough. Raisiny, with some lovely warming sherry-like qualities, some licoricey aromas and flavours are in there aswell, really nice.
