May 28, 2006 On tap at TCB - Pours a dark brown color with a nice light tan head. Has a nice roasted malt and coffee aroma and flavor. Smooth light bitterness. Medium body. This beer is pretty good.

Mar 14, 2006 Tap at Brewery. Malty roasted aroma. Black body with tan head. Flavor of dry roasted chocolate with some spices also present. Dry aftertaste on the palate. Dent but after some scottish ales before hand palate may of been confused according to notes.

Jul 11, 2004 Pitch black, almost half a glass of a big tan head. Good java character with mellow bitterness. Finally ... a decent beer at Thunder Canyon.

Jul 9, 2004 Pours a black color that shows clear, deep ruby highlights when held up to the light. It is topped by a light brown head. This porter has a nice aroma of toast, roast malt, and dark caramel malts. There is lots of dark malt character in the flavor. This beer is light on the palate, but rich on flavors with notes of espresso, and toasted biscuits. This has a nice dry finish with an acidity that is contributed by the roast malts. There are some definite contrasting notes of spicy hop character towards the end, these add another dimension to this beer. The finish is nice, roasty, sharp, and bitter. Overall this is my favorite beer of theirs.
