pours a darker version of the typical burgundy brown porter... nearly black with a slight haze and lasting tan ring for a head.
lots of roast on the nose without any sign of ashiness... lactose, wood, a touch of cocoa, fruit (though i don’t know which) and some floral hops.
the palate is dry... almost chalky on the finish... flavors in between of chocolate, slight char, toasty grain, floral hops and a peppery kind of spice. it is very well balanced... safe enough for tux and plenty for the nerds to enjoy.
medium bodied with a soft texture and thick/rich mouth feel from carbonation. 7/4.5/7/4/16/3.9 Braudog (3781), Dayton, Ohio, USA
